How to read binary header, samples etc from a segy file?

Hi,i am trying to read a segy file.the coordinate are ok but the attribute no.They show weird character (maybe encoding?)How can i configure that? I can't find any option on segy reader.Is this possible?Thanks.

Passing Named Connection Value from attribute

Hi,In workspace_01 I have a WorkspaceRunner transformer that runs workspace_02 that uses a SQLExecuter transformer. The SQLExecuter utilizes a parameter to receive the Named Connection required (e.g., gisdata_01@SDEDB or gisdata_02@SDEDB, etc..) that's working great.However, the issue happened within the workspace_01 with the WorkspaceRunner, unless I select from the available named connection to assign, the workspace_02 won't work successfully; i.e. assign by 'Attribute Value' or 'User Parameter' from the sub menu.A closer look into the log window revealed how the parameter was interpreted/passed to the workspcase_02 as:--SDE_NAMED_CONNECTION {\\<at>Value<openparen>_Named_Connection<closeparen>}While it should be:--SDE_NAMED_CONNECTION' `gisdata_02@<at>SDEDB' `#FME 2016.1Please help

How to stop a workspace when a tester fail?

Hello!I have two features set that i want to check if they have the same geometry. I am using a tester to do that check. My question is: how can i make the workspace halt if the tester fail? Is some sort of transformer or parameter that stop the running workspace if a tester fail?Thanks for your help!

AutoCAD text height and width

I am converting Microstation DGN to AutoCAD DWG drawings. One thing I'm trying to translate exactly is the text insertion point and horizontal alignment. While the values come through exactly, visually, some of the text don't match. I have the following mapped:igds_original_justification -> autocad_justificationigds_insertion_x -> autocad_alignment_xigds_insertion_y -> autocad_alignment_yAnd conditional values set for the following:autocad_width_factorautocad_shape_nameOne thing I noticed is in Microstation, one can set both text height and text width. For DWG, the text width seems to assume the height (or size) value. See the attachment for the difference in the alignment:I'm hoping the alignment issue will be resolved if the width is the same as in DGN. Is it possible at all to set text width for DWG?Is there any other way I can get the alignment to match perfectly?Thank you.

Expose FeatureWriter attributes

Hi All,I might be asking a silly question but here it goes:I am trying to pass some records through a Feature Writer and off the back of that pass the unique id of the written records into a SQL stored procedure so I can track it has been written successfully. However if I use the Feature Writer then I lose the attributes in the summary and therefore can't use the unique id in my stored procedure :( Is there a way to expose this attribute so I can use the unique id. I have attached some screen shots.

Revit 'Mark' Parameter to ArcMap

First post ever!I am exporting from Revit (RVZ) to FME and finally importing the ESRI Shape file into ArcMap. The problem I am getting is that I cannot get the Revit instance parameter "Mark" to eventually show up in ArcMap.I've tried many options but have not succeeded. Please help!!!Thank you

FME Server reader cache

Hi,I'm using FME Server (2016.1) to read a text file using the TEXTLINE reader, but it appears to be caching the contents of the file - it's stuck on a version of the file from a week ago.Does anyone know how I can turn off the caching?Thanks!Roland.

SQLCreator unable to read published paramters in SQL statement

In my SQLCreator Parameters, I have created the following statement in the SQL Statement:SELECT * FROM contributor_dg.$(THEME)_$(AOI) WHERE SUPPLY_DATE = '$(SUPPLY_DATE)';...$(THEME), $(AOI) and $(SUPPLY_DATE) are all published parameters.I was able to run the process with no issues on version 2015.0. Since upgrading to 2015.1 and opening the same workbench with 2015.1, I can no longer expose the attributes based on the above sql statement. How can I export 3D building, textures, and attribute from Revit 2017 using FME exporter for Revit to ArcScene?

Hi, Could anyone please help me to transform the 3D object from Revit to ArcScene? I exported the 3D using FME exporter to get RVZ file, however, when I tried to visualize the result in FME data Inspector, the texture of the building wasn't appeared or transformed. I am not sure of the options I have to choose from the Export dialog to export the texture. Any Idea? Also, I transformed the RVZ file as it is (without texture) using FME Workbench Desktop to Shapefile and I have noticed that the multipatch layers for the building didn't come/merge in one attribute in ArcScene, and of course the texture was not appeared as well. How to log output from an SQL excutor

HiI have a SQL executor which fires some sql queries to an oracle DB.They are very simple update statements where the where constraints come from attributes of the feature.The strange thing is that when I run a set of ~ 12000 features, I got ~ 10 where the sql executer queries seem to have not been executed. I.e. I expect to see updated records in the DB for all features in the set, but ~10 fail.Is there a way to log the sql executer transformer so it outputs every single sql that it fires to the DB?I want to see what the exact sql query is for a feature that fail.I know it would be a huge log, but I don't see a reason why 12000 will update OK and 10 won't.

Aggregate row values if a column cell value matches in Excel

Hello All,I am trying to aggregate values of rows if specific column values match with another row in the same column. I also want to add that value in that cell which has a higher value. for an example; In the provided screenshot Pararun 111 &112 have duplicated values. They exist in row 8, 9, 25 and 27. I want to sum up Pararun 111 values in row 8 and 112 in row 27 because row 8 and row 27 have bigger value than row 9 and 25.

List all attributes actually used in an workspace?

I have a change-detection workflow that triggers another workflow whenever input feature(s) changes. I need to fine-tune this process even more. Say for example, if the input feature(s) has 1000 attributes, the attributes relevant to me are only 100. I need the change-detection workflow to trigger only if any of those 100 attribute value changes. Is there a way to only get a list of attributes that are actually used inside the workflow?

Removing empty shape file entries based on grouping

Hi there,I'm having some trouble with performing conditional checks on some shape files I have. Basically, this is what my input looks like:CityDistrictAA1A2BC C1DEWhat I want do do is exclude Cities with blank districts IF they have entries where District is present, but Cities that only have one blank entry should be kept. In this case, I want to keep A1; A2; Bblank; C1; Dblank; and Eblank, whilst removing Ablank and Cblank.I tried toying with using a tester an making it a composite test, but I have no idea how to use the correct expression.Thanks in advance,Robbie

Cluster lines near each other into a single polygon

I'm working on a dataset that contains piano like clusters of lines that i want to merge into a single polygon per cluster.Example from the source in autocad:The end result will look the same but than it should be a polygon containing 3 features in stead of lines. So the line width contains information for making the polygon. But how do i group them together after or before i change them? Is there an (easy) way to group them with a certain buffer or would the neighbor finder be easier?

Some source data has not been used

Hello,  I want to aggregate shapes from several subdirectories that have the same path and name structure. So "SourceDadtaset_SHAPE" = N: \\ service \\ group \\ thematic \\ ** \\ shape \\ unites _ * _ 2.shp. The script reads all shapes correctly, says the transaction was successful but displays "Some source data has not been used. This can happen if the dataset is changed or if a feature type is renamed or Deleted. "  However, it is not the case  Do you have an idea ?  Thank you

Reading (Borland) Paradox tables ?

Hi,A dinosaur has raised its head from the tar pit! We've been given a set of Paradox data tables to import.As far as I remember, it was something that the long-time retired Borland Database Engine (BDE) could access, but how do you read such data in this day and age (if at all) ? Preferably directly with FME of course.I was happy to find a Paradox ODBC driver from Microsoft in my Windows, but it doesn't seem like it's capable of reading any of the provided table files (DB, and MB) :-(Do anyone here have any insights on this issue they want to share ?CheersLars I.

Why use fme over python and arcpy?

Hi guys,I probably can say I'm at the point of being very confident with my skills in using python including libraries such as os, xlrd/xlwt, numpy, arcpy etc. I can create simple to complicated scripts, which can have simple line of codes, or several functions or several class objects and I can pretty much work seamlessly side by side with ArcGIS. In our office we have FME. I am finding it difficult to see any reason why I should use it over my pythonic process. I am thinking if only I encounter a very unique data format that python thru arcpy or another library cant read will I use FME to possibly do some translation. Other than that, any spatial operation I can fully use arcpy. But I don't want my boss to think I'm wasting our investment. I want to use it but cant find anything on the web that will convince me its a practical tool over things I can set up with python.

Using SurfaceDraper to extract multiple z-value of a point on a surface model

Hi all,I have few points with known x and y coordinates. I can successfully use SurfaceDraper to extract z-value of those points. But it seems to get one z-value for points touch on one surface. If I have a point that can touch two surfaces, I cannot get two z values but any one only. How can I get two z-values?Is there any other transformer to extract multiple z-value of a point on multiple surface?Thanks

AttributeValidator - problems setting up Minimum Length Operator

Hi , I’m having problems configuring the ‘Minimum Length’ Operator in the AttributeValidator Transformer. Ideally, I would like it to test that the minimum length of characters is greater than 8. When I run the Translation I get the following message: An error was encountered evaluating a TestFactory test: Illegal operator `MINIMUM_LENGTH' supplied for test evaluation -- operator must be one of < > <= >= != = ==  I believe the issue is with my incorrect settings in ‘Rule Configuration’ column. Does anyone have a working example of how to configure the ‘Rule Configuration’ using the ‘Minimum Length’ Operator? Many thanks

Excel Reader: Damaged or not a .zip file

Hello FME community, Can someone help me with this error message on FME Server ?"Excel Reader: Failed to open dataset '<filepath>'. Error message was: 'damaged or not a zip file.'I run a workspace on FME Server which reads an Excel-file (.xlsx), but FME Server reports that the input Excel file is zipped or corrupt. Although, the Excel file exists on that particular location and is not corrupt or zipped. The file is published with the workspace so it's on the same directory on server.I don't get this error when I run the process on my local computer.Dries
