DXF written through FME can not open proper in ArcGIS

Hello people, i splitted one DXF-File into 4 separeted DXF-Files. One of them i tried to open in ArcGIS, but can not see the features there. Somehow DXF-Files, which were written through FME, could be read only in FME Viewer, but not in ArcGIS. Do you have any ideas, how can i fix it? I tried already all possible format of DXF in FME to write, but still does not work. (the main DXF-File can be open and the features could be seen in ArcGIS as well)

Writing to Multiple Text Files

So I have a point shapefile of orthophoto locations with approx. 250 features in it with attributes. I also have a .txt file to use as a template. What I basically need to do is for each feature in the shapefile, I need to extract the attributes, do a find/replace in the template, and write out to a text file. Essentially it's just creating text files with metadata of each orthophoto in it, so I should end up with approximately 250 text files when finished. I'm not sure how to get FME to go through one feature at a time and write out to a .txt. Does anybody have any idea how to do this?

Does the Data Streaming service keep an engine in use whilst streaming?

When using data streaming service with FME Server I know that an engine needs to run to generate the initial file that will be streamed. Once this file is generated i.e. a geo JSON file, is an engine involved when a user hits the endpoint to retrieve the geo JSON? Or is the data streamed from the web server?  Also, if we have multiple engines and the streaming job is run by multiple users at the same time, will they be attempting to over write the same file? Is the streaming dependent on the file that gets written by the job or does it stream directly from server?

How can I convert an Esri Geodatabase into VPF coverage?

Hello, I am a researcher working on Digital Cartography. I am new to FME and I have been trying to convert an Esri Shapefile into VPF coverage (Vector Product Format). But it seems that the FME can read VPF coverage but cannot write that. Instead FME writes VPF database which I do not want. Any useful insights on how can I write VPF coverage using FME would be highly appreciable and helpful for my research.

Merge intersected polygons within one feature class

Hi I am quite new to FME and just posting my first question here :)How can I merge intersected polygons within one feature class?Only other requirement is I only want to merge the ones which have the same attribute value in one field.Thanks!

How can I easily expose attributes from XMLFlattener or JSONFlattener

Both the XMLFlattener and JSONFlattener (and the Flatten options in the XMLFragmenter and JSONFragmenter) give you the option to expose the newly created attribute names to the workspace. However, if there are a lot attributes, it can be a pain to type them all in. As well, any changes to the input XML or JSON may result in new attributes to expose.

Hello, I want to do coordinate transformation between space rectangular coordinate of different datum planes. And we know there are some transformation models, such as Bursa. I also have the seven parameters for transformation. I have tried 3DAffine transformer, and it can do work. The main point I want know how to define custom coordinate to do this? OpenStreetMap PBF Reader: Get members of relation

Hi allI'm using the new OpenStreetMap PBF Reader of FME 2017 to process some public Transportation data. I managed to edit the configuration file (osmconf.ini) to get the attributes I need and to read the ways, nodes and relations.Regarding the Relations, I encountered the following Problem: The relation is shown as a polyline (in my case a relation connecting different bus stops to a route). However, I need to know which nodes (bus stops) belong to which Relations (bus routes). By using the tool "Overpass Turbo" (https://overpass-turbo.osm.ch), I can query this Information with the following query:relation(6794709); out;Is there any Chance to get the list of nodes belonging to a relation in FME? Preferably by using pbf-files, but the OpenStreetMap XML reader or using an HTTPcaller on a site like Overpass Tubo (but with an [REST?] API would also be a possibility.Thanks a lot!GreetingsAndré

Can I transform a polygon feature-type geodatabase into an ESRI GRID feature?

Hello Everyone,   I have a polygon-feature Geodatabase that I need to be converted into an ESRI GRID feature with 30m x 30m cell resolution. I really don't need to transfer any cell values. I’ve tried using the suggestions at this Knowledge Center article “Converting Vector data to Raster” https://knowledge.safe.com/articles/1099/converting-vector-data-to-raster.html but to no avail.   Currently I’ve tried the AttributeCreator/ImageRasterizer/RasterBandSeparator transformer process and then tried writing the result with a ESRI ASCII GRID Writer but the process fails with an error message stating that the output cannot be written to a raster because of an invalid format.   Thanks for any assistance,   Cheers,   - Craig

Converting RLC files

I've recently come across a number of these files that look like they are from the early 1990s. AutoCAD can open them, but I was hoping to batch convert them into either TIF or PDF format. I used a Data File Reader, set to binary and found that the first 4 bytes describe the dimensions of the image, but after that, I'm stuck.

FeatureWriter error

How to create a list of attribute values from many input files as plain text

I am reading many features in a database, putting them through a 'spatialfilter'. All features that don't intersect are to be sent to the 'emailer'. How can i group a single attribute from many features as plain text so i can add this list to the 'emailer' body?

How can I convert a GeoTIFF file into CADRG file?

I am new to FME and I am trying to convert a GeoTIFF file into CADRG file. But unfortunately I am getting unwanted results. The resulting CADRG file just looks like a blank black colour raster file i.e., I suspect there is some error either in the GeoTIFF reader or transforming process or CADRG writer. Please give some insights on how can I overcome this issue?

(Private Parameter) Python script does not return the right value

Hello everybody,in my workbench the scale of an output raster type feature should depend on an attribute RADIUS, which is defined as a numeric published parameter the user can manipulate. I realized that with a private parameter which is defined through a python script as you see below. I set the default value of the RADIUS attribute to '500' so the scale should be '4000'... But the script returns the value '15000'. I also tried to return just the value of the RADIUS itself in this script to test if the RADIUS value is still setted to 500 when the python script is running and it is! And the RADIUS attribute is definitely numeric. It has the type 'Number'. What could be the problem? I don't really know what to do.Best regards,Felixscale=0if (FME_MacroValues['RADIUS'] <= 500):    scale=4000elif (500 < FME_MacroValues['RADIUS'] <= 1000):    scale=8000else:    scale=15000return scale

Clipping a series of overlapping elipses

Does anyone know a way of clipping a series of overlapping polygons that are in a time sequenced order like you see when a cyclone moves across the land and they are shown as a series of wind area circles. I am trying to remove the overlapping areas from all polygons as well as keep the order of the polygons. The first polygon would have to clip any other polygon that overlaps it then what's left of the second polygon would have to clip the third etc. I have attached a sample shape file as an example.

Workspace Runner: How do I make the parent workspace fail when the child workspace fails?

I have configured a "master" workspace that runs 4 Workspace Runners sequentially. I run the master workspace from a BAT file via the fme.exe command line. When one child workspace fails, the parent workspace stops, but does not fail. The workspaces are linked together by the Succeeded port. The Failed port is not linked to anything. I imagine I should link it to something? If so what? Thanks.

Hi !I would like to know if it's possible to transfert LAS files to Landxml ?Just like XML files are exported from a surface in Autocad.The purpose of this transformer is to load LandXML surface into Autocad Infrasworks as a Terrain so i can drape Buildings/Roads/City Furniture/Streams on it. I have a field type string contains a date like "20170104" and i have to change it to "2017/01/04".I have tried de dateformatter (then the model crashes), the stringsearcher (i don't find the right expression) or the attributesplitter but i have no delitimer .Has somebody a quick way to do this?
