Collada files - keep links to original textures (do not create copies)

Hello I'm transforming a COLLADA file - just rotating it.  My input file uses textures that have nice descriptive names however when I pass it through FME it copies all the texture files and gives them names like: Effect.jpg Effect1.jpg Effect2.jpg ...etc... is there anything I can do to keep the links to the original texture files or easily link the output file back to the original textures?

Dynamic Schema and file suffixes

Hi  I am using Dynamic Schema to translate a large number of shapefiles from one coordinate system to another, but keeping the same schema.   I am able to do this successfully however I cannot work out how to suffix each translated shapefile so as to differentiate the translated files from the non-translated files.  I have tried setting the Fanout Parameter to Yes, but it only suffixes the folder with the translated files, not the actual shapefiles themselves.  Does anyone know how to do this?  Thankyou

Please Help.....Domain Code Values

I am using Data Interoperability and "trying" to create a CAD (dwg) to FGDB workspace to use on all new projects that are submitted to us from a surveyor. I am on week 4 now so still pretty green to this software but do know the power it has once it is working correctly. We require the surveyor to submit an excel table that has all utility info (i.e., valves, tees, bends...) with the feature_ID as the database "key" to join to the .dwg. The problem I am having is finding the best way to convert the excel attributes to the coded domains in the existing FGDB. For example 8"x6" (excel table) is = to 78 in the code value in the geodatabase. What would be the cleanest way to make this conversion? AttributeCopier? This is the last step in my workspace and kind of lost. Thanks in advance for those able to help.

httpfetcher but with POST?

Hi, I would like to use the httpfetcher to grab a websites source html. But since it does not support POST, I am limited to only reciveving the first 512 signs.. Any workaround available?

Problem with the transformer "Deaggregator"

Hi, I'm working on migrating a database Posgis to smallworld format. I have records in PostGIS which have several geometries (eg galapagos islands are only a Register in Postgis but there are several geometries)   When I transform this record to smallworld, only creates a geometry (only one) of all previous  By this, I thought of using the transformer "deaggregator", but (without this transformer the workbench was running perfectly ) when I run the workbench with the transformer it stops.without showing any errors in Smallworld or FME .  FME displays: "Deaggregator(DeaggreagateFactory): The PART_COUNT clause is not supported if RECURSIVE is specified"  I've tried with the option recursion (in the transformer) enabled and disabled .   I would be very grateful if someone could help    Thank you very much

Tester query

Hi (again),  I am running a workbench with a simple Tester that isn't giving the desired results.  I have a published parameter set to a value "00MF" and the same value exisits 128 out of 500 times in a .csv file (no other columns).  I have set up a test that compares these two attributes called EQ_Query_LA and Origin_LA but I get no matches.  I've attached a screenshot below.  I'm sure it's really simple, but I  can't put my finger on it!  I've tried it with values that are only numbers or only text and changing the mode.    Grateful for any answers!

Line on Line intersect

I’m trying to perform a line on line intersect which is very straightforward in ArcMap using 'Analysis Tool'->'Overlay'->'Intersect' tool, but trying to do this in FME is proving quite challenging. The two networks that I’m trying to intersect for the most part are similar, but there instances where spatially they are not identical and can diverge by up to 25m. In the screenshot below you can see where the red and blue lines (networks) that I need to intersect converge then diverge, and the yellow is the result of using the intersect tool in ArcMap with an XY tolerance of 25 meters.   Additionally I need to maintain the attributes of each network in the resultant output.

Translate Feature with Empty Readers

Dear FME Professionals,  I have 71 layers in a FGDB, some are tables and some are feature classes. I have to convert to individual XML and GML for each feature class resepctively.  Since the sample dataset contains 15 feature classes which do not have any record. Howerver, I still want to have the output GML even there is no feature in the reader.  After I checked from the community, I set the parameter "Ignore Failed Readers" to "Yes" in the workspace and I also changed the parameters "Write all the feature type" of all the writers to "Yes".  But there is still no file can be exported from the empty record reader.  Would anyone can adivse for this? Highly appreciate for any idea.  Thanks and regards  Cliff

Help with random errors when loading to Azure OGDI Open Data Catalogue

Using a spatial relation string in a spatial filter

I am trying to remove isolated islands (i.e. real islands in the sea) from a dataset that also contains intersecting polygons. There are also isolated islands inside the intersecting polygons and I need to ensure that they are kept.  I was thinking of using a spatial relation string in a spatial filter rather than one of the standard constraints. Can anyone tell me how I should go about this? If it is possible then what is the format please? Is this the right way to go about it?

My FMEserver deletes my result files

Hello,  I have one problem with my fmeserver (2013 sp1) My workbench runs correctly and my log is ok with all files who must be write. But when I download my result zip, I have only few files but not all my files.  Has anyone encountered a similar problem ?  Regards  Raphael

List but not a list?

I'm using an xml reader to read multiple xml files into fme, each xml file is translated as one feature with a number of attributes. In some of these files there are multiple instances of the same element and these appear to be formulated as a list when inspecting (e.g. displayed as date{0} and date{1}. However if I try and do anything with this list, e.g. explode/concatenate, I just get a no list attributes available message.  I suspect this is something to do with the fact that the attribute is not always a list element as if i read just one file that I know to have multiple instances of the same element I can manipulate lists no problem but I've got no idea how to resolve this.

Citygml Generic attribute

I have an Esri shape file. I transferred it to a citygml file as a Land use object. I have one more field in my shape file as a coefficient for type of land use and I wanna have it as Generic Attribute in Land use object. How can I do that? I can also have it as GenericCityObject.  I appreciate your advice in advance.

Creating polygon from unsorted points of a building

Hello! I have a floor plan of a building in points. The points are unsorted and in 0.5m distance from each other http://imgur.com/AVGbNFE  I would need to create a polygon from the points. Transformers I've tried:  - PointConnector: How can I sort the points using only x and y? - HullAccumulator: I can't find an alpha value, which would work for this. I've tried 0.2-8. If alpha is small, I don't get the whole area geometry. If alpha is big, the area is too generalized. - SurfaceModeller: Problem is that, the surface boundary forms a convex hull.

Run FME with AutoIT

Deaggregating polygons andresultant centroid position

I have a table of mapinfo polygons, which includes a number of aggregated polygons. I have used Aggregate Filter and Deaggregate to separate the polygons, however when i use these polygons in spatial queries,i have found that the centroids of the polygons are not toward the centre of the polygons giving me incorrect results. I have checked the centroids in mapinfo and a number of the deaggregated parcel centroids are located in unexpected positions.I am looking for a way to correct the centroid positions, or regenerate new centroids for the polygons.

Isolate text from .csv column

Was wondering if anybody has split text from a .csv column into to seperate columns?  I have a column named "Coordinates" with x,y data with the word POINTZ before the coordinate.  Example: POINT Z (-113.807295690 52.269077310 842.30)  I would like to put just the values in seperate columns (X & Y) containing no text.....  Once I have the x,y in seperate columns i'm assuming its easy to convert the .csv to a .shp  Any thoughts

SURFACEDRAPER

  Hi there, I have aproblem with the "surfacedraper" transformer. I want to create the projection of a polygon feature that represent the ground surface of a building, on another polygon that represents the roof, in order to create the walls. The groun surface is smaller then the roof surface, so  have to create this projection that coresponds to the fingerprint of the actual building, and then substaracted from the original roof to get the eaves of the house.  I've tried to use surfacedraper by tranforming the vertices of the ground polygons in to points and projecting them on the roof, but i get some points with elevation =1 and i don't know why? I gues that a posible cause might be the fact that there are more then one point in the same location that need to be projected(in the case of buildings that have the same roof and separate ground suface that have a common edge) Any ideeas? Any other ideeas to get my polygons are welcome?

Access a Secured FTP Site and Download the Dataset

Hi,   In a workspace, I will regularly update a source that is available as a zipped shape file from a secured ftp site with a username and password.    So I’m using the shape reader, and using a path like(ftp://<3.ftp/*_*.zip) in the FME shape file reader location, but FME returned the following error when running the workspace   ERROR |Shape Reader: No Shape Files found to process in directory,…   Obviously, I need to pass my logging credentials to download and read the zip file, so how can I pass the username and password in this case?  Sami

Aggregator

When I aggragate multiple features into one I lose all the attribute data from the original features. Is there a way to aggragate the features, but not all the data? I am working with mulitpatch features in Arcscene. Thank you in advance for your time, -Adam

FME Comparing ecw files

Hi, i'm new in the world of FME and trying to learn the working of it. Mostly by using the help function, this website en offcourse Google. But some problems seems to be a bit difficult ;)  What i try to do is comparing 600+ ecw files to 1 ecw file that i can use, by importing, in another program. I have been trying different ways to get the job done but still didnt find a way to make this happen.  I hope to find some help on this site.  Thx J-P

Polygon de aggregation

i have a series of polygons, some of which are aggregates of multiple polygons. I want to disaggregate the polygons back to the base polygons and assign some attributes from the parent polygon and some attributes as a percentage of the parent polygon based on the percentage of the polygon area.  I started looking at the Aggregate filter and deaggregator butcant work out the attribute issues. Any assistance would be appreciated.
