Getting a slight projection shift when performing this conversion operation. Just a straight reformatting conversion, and is not displaying correctly in PLSCAD...  ECW in... 2208900.00 16581180.00  JP2 out... 2208900.13 16581179.86  Thoughts? RL

renaming attribute?

My name is Roberto and, i have a doubt about FME. I work to Cemig at Belo Horizonte / MG / Brazil. I'm sorry about my english, and i hope that you can understand me.  I have been trying to change one geometrical attribute.   I put one reader to read from geomedia , and one writer as an oracle spatial object. I have to insert the Geo data from geomedia, into an oracle data base using FME. I did the changes of some attributes and the FME accepted this well. But, the Geometrical attribute just dont change.  It goes to the oracle database named as GEOM. I want to change this name to GEO_LINHA but i cant. I tried to use the Geometryproppertyrenamertool without results.   Could you help me? Thanks

create point cloud from overlapping polygons

Hello, I have a set of overlapping polygon features in 3D space. I'd like to create a point cloud from these polygons without overlapping points. I used the "PointCloudCombiner" but the transformer "rasterizes" each polygon individually. How can I avoid this and achive a pc without several overlapping points?

Extract separate attributes from one layer name? CAD

Reader is Autocad and writer is FGDB. What I am trying to do is extract separate attributes from one layer name. For example Layer name is 4_SDR_21_WATERMAIM and need the 4_ in "size" field SDR_21 in "material" field and WATERMAIN in "main_type" field? Can someone please point me in the right direction for the best way to accomplish this? Thank you

Can published parameters be specified for scheduled jobs on FME Server?

I am looking into using FME Server 2013's scheduling capabilities to run workspaces on a schedule. These workspaces have many published parameters that must be specified. Is it possible to use the built-in web interface to schedule jobs and specify the parameters these jobs should run with? I am not seeing anything like that in the UI or documentation.

Assign value to start- and endpoint

I have a dataset of polylines from an ArcGIS database with a 2D geometry and the z-values for the startingpoints and endpoints stored in its attributefile as Z-Start and Z-End. I need to assign those values to the z-value of the first and last points in the polyline in order to export the dataset as a 3D dwg-file.  There is nothing in the datasets attributes that indicates wich is the beginning or the end of the polyline but looking at the datasets geometry for each polyline in the Data Inspector shows that the order of the including points follows the drawingorder in ArcGIS  I cannot find a way that could count the number of points in the geometry of the polyline or a way to assign the z-values.  Is this doable?

Translating KMZ to GeoTIFF - issues

I am an infrequent user of FME and am having issues with converting a KMZ to GeoTIFF. The KMZ was created using the Map to KML tool in ArcGIS 10.0, and it displays correctly when I preview it in the Universal Viewer. When I try to run it through the Quick Translator, I get the following error message:  GEOTIFF writer: Failed to obtain a raster geometry from the feature. Only features with raster geometry are expected by the GEOTIFF writer +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Feature Type: `Placemark' Geometry Type: Unknown (0) =========================================================================== A fatal error has occurred. Check the logfile above for details  I've tried running the translation with different settings in Parameters but it will not work. Does anyone have any ideas on how to proceed?

Shapefile Attributes

I am using the veronoi cell generator to take azimuth data and create sector maps with the output being a shapefile. I right clicked on the writer for the shapefile and selected copy attributes from feature type and chose the input csv file as the feature to copy the attributes from. None of the attributes end up in the shapefile and at this point I am unsure of how to proceed. Any help is appreciated.

Line on Area Overlayer: cuts 1 line object

Dear Mappers,   During the LineOnAreaoverlayer, FME splits an object into two pieces with exactly the same attributes. Does anybody know why this would happen? It is the only object on the complete Belgian dataset behaving like this. There exists indeed a polygon that uses the same edge, but that is the case for many of the line objects. AreaOnAreaOverlayer - merge attributes without actually merging the shapefiles

Hello, I would like to make a spatial join between two areas. The expected result is to bring the attributtes from one, to the other, based on overlaps (the spatial join).  Currently, I managed to do that, but the output shapefile is a combination between the two input files. I would like the output to have the same geometry as one of the input files, not both.  To create a point shapefile from the supplier would mean that many requestors will not receive data because large areas that overlap them will end up as a centroid for each large area.. Can anyone help me out with this?  Thank you all,

@Relate invocation error in Joiner

Hi, In my workbench, i have one joiner in main work bench and 2 joiners in custom transformer. last 2 are executing successfully but when it comes for joiner in main, flow stops over there, means no output from joiner. In log, i found following msg:  "2013-09-24 14:54:37|   6.1|  0.0|ERROR |Relation `Joiner' in @Relate invocation is not defined  2013-09-24 14:54:37|   6.1|  0.0|ERROR |A fatal error has occurred. Check the logfile above for details  2013-09-24 14:54:37|   6.1|  0.0|ERROR |... Last line repeated 5 times ..."    Strange thing is same transformer is executing on another workbench. I tried with all possible tables/parameters/prefetch variation, but still same behaviour.    Please let me know the resolution.    Thanks.  Subrat

Is There A Quick Way To Run A Template On FME Server For Multiple Files

We have a template on FME Server that runs does some converting and clipping of dgn files based on a line in a kml. Is there a way for a user to run this on multiple kml files without having to add an individual kml and running the service separately each time.  For example it would be nice if a user could select multiple kml files and have fme run them each through the process as separate datasets instead of one large dataset.  Thanks

Executing FME with COMMAND_LINE parameters

Sorry - this might be simplistic, but I'm trying to run fme from a command line providing a file with a workbench and a parameter specifying the search envelope to use when reading features.  My command file named cnp.cmd and contains this:  C:\\\\Projects\\\\FMEWorkbenchOutput\\\\test.fmw \\\\ --GEODATABASE_FILE_SEARCH_ENVELOPE 102991123 -5143701 103346900 -51186100  when I execute fme with:  fme COMMAND_LINE cmp.cmd  it executes the workbench (which exports data from an ArcGIS file geodatabase to an AutoCAD drawing) but it does not recognize the search envelope.   Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks, Ed

Can SQL Server 2012 really read SDE 10.1 geometry?

All,  I just flpped open the back-end of SDE 10.1 through SQL server and to my surprise the geometry of the SDE feature classes was being read as if it were native SQL spatial data...  Is this a supported feature?  Thanks!  -m

Featuremerger mixes up ID's

HI, I am having issues with featuremerger mixing up ID numbers. I am joining two TAB files, address and propertyparcel. both tables hold a property ID on which I am merging. I want the resulting address table (requestor) to hold the parcel id. The issue is that after transformation the attributes are mixed up. the parcel id is populated with the property id and vice versa. Even weirder is that this is not consistent. it seems totally random as far as I can tell. (of over 25,000 records 11,000 get mixed up!) All atribute fields have unique names before merging (I have put in attribute renamers before the merge). any tips will be greatly apreciated!!

Appending multiple feature classes in one workbench file?

All,  I have 8 years worth of polygon data that I'd like to append to 1 feature class in SDE. The source data is from shapefiles.  I've set this up in a single workbench, and pointed all the readers to the same writer. It looked like it would work until I ran it, then I noticed what had happened:  - for each reader, the writer had created a new feature class in the SDE with the name of the writer with a 0 appended to the name, 00 for the next one, 000 for the next one, etc. In the end I had 6 SDE feature classes with names ending in various 0's...  Example: SchoolBoundary_Archive0  SchoolBoundary_Archive0 SchoolBoundary_Archive00 SchoolBoundary_Archive000 SchoolBoundary_Archive0000 etc. etc.  Now I'm guessing this isn't the desired workflow, so I'm wondering what my best course of action would be in order to append this datasets together. Perhaps I should create a seperate workbench file for each?  Any thoughts appreciated.  Thanks!  Matthew Baker Denver Public

Custom transformer and Dynamic schema

Hi guys -  I am still having an issue with my Dynamic Schema workbench working correctly with polygons.  I have finally worked out it is not the workbench itself that has the problem, but my custom-built transformer.  The transformer is a reprojection transformer and when dealing with polygons it actually GeometryCoercer's the polygons into lines to do the projection, then converts them back to polygons.  I believe that this is why when I run my Dynamic Schema workbench on a shapefile polygon, it comes up with the "Features with no schema defined" error.   My question is - is there a way to get the Dynamic Schema function to work, without altering the transformer??  How do I get FME to remember the schema of the polygons before they went through the transformer??  Thankyou

Dates before 1902

I have  an excel spreadsheet with dates from year 1892- present. The date formats are either YYYY-mm-dd OR mm/dd/YYYY. I am trying to convert all dates to format %Y-%m-%d using the data formatter and get the following result YYYYmmdd000000.000. My goal is to convert the dates to %Y-%m-%d format and write it into a geodatabase. Please help.

Replacing two lines of a text file in FME DESKTOP 2013

Hi,    Following is part of my text file. " #! DB_USER_ID: #! VALUE:'ORACLE' #! DB_PASSWORD: #! VALUE:'systemUser' " I want to replace only  value of DB_USER_ID to 'ORACLE_9i'.  but whenever i am trying to search with " #! DB_USER_ID: #! VALUE:'ORACLE' " directly or with "#! DB_USER_ID:\\n#! VALUE:'ORACLE'" with new line character, i am not getting any o/p in StringReplacer.  Please let me know the resolution.  Thanks. Subrat

Dynamic string concatanation in FME DESKTOP 2013

I an reading a feature table having 3 string columns say a,b,c and column X from another feature. Columns a,b,c holds string value(nullable). X has value like "Concat(Concat(a,b),c)". I need to derive final string without running sqlexecutor.  Please let me know how to solve this.  Thanks. Subrat

Concatenate values of certain fields in a table with duplicates

Hey,  I have a table of Well lithologies containing some logical inconsistencies that I've pulled out with the Matcher. The table has fields Well_ID, ToDepth, Color, Description, Material. It contains multiple records for a given well and depth which I want to merge into a single record. So for instance, I might have the following two records:  Well_ID    ToDepth    Colour    Description    Material 1300186    62    Green  Hard     Shale 1300186    62    Gray    Sandy    Shale  I want to produce a single record that concatenates the Color and Description values, like so:  Well_ID    ToDepth    Colour    Description    Material 1300186    62    Green *AND* Gray  Hard *AND* Sandy    Shale  Ultimately I want to stream these records back into a clean (no more duplicates) Well Lithologies table. Is the Feature Merger the way to do this, and if so, how do I configure it? Any help would be appreciated!  Thanks, Joan

How do I schedule an FMW script to run at regular intervals?

Hello everybody,  I am a new-be to FME - can someone give me a step by step process on how to schdule an FMW script to run at a particular time and at particular intervals. For example,  9pm every second day.  I know when I run an FMW script, there's this at the beginning fo the log:  fme.exe WT-RoadSegment-AnnoToPolyAttrib.fmw --SourceDataset_AUTOCAD_OD "\\\\data\\Sidney\\CorporateData\\Drawings\\AREA MAPS\\Town Maps\\RoadSegments.dwg" --DestDataset_FILEGDB D:\\Fme\\Output-TEST\\WTRS.gdb    Where do I put this and how do I set up the time and interval. 400 layers to any format via FME Server...

What is the best approach for creating an FME workspace that will accept a layer name as a parameter, then export to any data format.  The layers will be coming from SDE, however, depending on the layer name, may have additional FME transformers, etc.  Is there a way to conditionally evaluate a layername parameter, then branch off the workspace execution?  For the output, I assume the generic writer is my best bet?  Thanks in advance,  M
