We have set up our remote engine on another server, now I’m trying to configure a remote engine in FME Server 2022, but the tab is not visible. How do I get it to show?

Hi @stevenmccarthy1, thanks for posting!
The Remote Engine Service is only available starting with FME Server 2023. We encourage you to upgrade to a newer version to take advantage of this feature!
Additionally, please note that Safe Software provides technical product support on each version of the FME Platform for a period of 3 years from the public release date. More reason to upgrade!

Our Remote Engine is is from 2017, so @macatsafe that’s not correct.

It’s possible that what you were using since 2017 was Distributed Engines, which allowed engines to run on remote machines. It shares some similarities but not the same as the official centralized Remote Engine Service which was introduced in 2023-2024. This article explains the difference between the two features: Leverage Remote Engine Service in FME Flow

If you'd like further support, I recommend submitting a ticket with us here: Safe Software Support. We’d be happy to review your FME Flow architecture and help find a solution for your use case!
