Truncating versioned feature class takes a very long time

I have an Esri Geodatabase (ArcSDE Geodb) writer that takes 50 minutes to truncate a versioned feature class with 70,000 records. The transaction type on the writer is set to Versioned Edit Session and Features per Transaction set to 5,000.

Any ideas of how to speed this up?

Make sure to try this: https://knowledge.safe.com/articles/494/why-is-fme-slow-to-truncate-my-sdegeodatabase-tabl.html

You may also want to look to the ESRI forums for this issue.
