GOOD MORNING. I AM AN ITALIAN PHD STUDENT. I WOULD LIKE TO CLOSE MY THESIS INVETIGING THE INTEGRATION BETWEEN BIM AND GIS. I HAVE DISCOVERED THIS PLATFORM NOW. TIME FOR MY SEARCH IS VERY NARROW. THE TUTORIALS I FOUND ARE FROM 2013or2015, IS THERE SOMETHING MORE UPDATED THAT I CAN CONSULT TO ACCELERATE THE EXPERIENCE?

Take a look into CityGML 3.0 - I think this could be important for your work.

FME now also supports reading revit files. When you say BIM-GIS are you looking into something like complex BIM to simple CityGML models.

I don't think the tool kit has changed too much from 2015 here although performance and usability has increased a lot, but for the most part the tutorials are still relevant and get updated fairly regularly.

In my experience for BIM to GIS to work the BIM models need to stick to a fairly strict structure otherwise the process falls apart. To simplify a complex BIM model without some kind of structure it must be done based on the geometries which is really hard and I don't know anyone who has been able to get that working in a way which produces a good result. Your project area is really interesting and a lot of work is going onto making that process easier.

I wish you luck

there is a webinar here from 2017: https://www.safe.com/webinars/3d-fme/

and one from here 2016: https://www.safe.com/webinars/bim-workflows-how-to-build-from-cad-gis-for-infrastructure/

There is also some dicussion here about it: https://de.slideshare.net/SafeSoftware/fme-the-ultimate-missing-link-and-workflow-for-bim-and-gis-at-denver-international-airport

Hi! Really thank you.

I would like to take me to Revit, not only geometric data, but also information, and in particular energy data. Do you think it is possible? I'm interested in creating a geo-referenced energy database for a neighborhood. But, currently I don't know how
