If you take a look at jdh's answer on this Q&A;, it looks like you can format hyperlinks by specifying it in the kml_name attribute, (if I'm understanding your question correctly). I would also agree on using either the feature type fanout like in this tutorial or AttributeCreators to set up a more customized folder structure like in this tutorial.
