reduce files ecw

Hi,

I apologize for the previous post on reducing the ECW linked with dysfunction of my PC.

I would reduce the size of an ECW file 10GB composed from images in 24-bit to 8-bit.

Would you have a solution?

Bests regards,

The ECW writer featuretype has a setting to reduce the number of pixels.

That should reduce the size of the ECW file.

I do not know exactly what reduction you should use.

I agree with @erik-jan the setting on the writer will reduce the overall output file size, but also the quality of the resulting image.

Another option will be to reduce the size of the individual files before creating the mosaic. You can do that by resampling them and reducing the bit depth. Again this will also affect the resulting raster quality.

What about when reading the ECW read one specified pyramid level?
