Reading (Borland) Paradox tables ?

Hi,

A dinosaur has raised its head from the tar pit! We've been given a set of Paradox data tables to import.

As far as I remember, it was something that the long-time retired Borland Database Engine (BDE) could access, but how do you read such data in this day and age (if at all) ? Preferably directly with FME of course.

I was happy to find a Paradox ODBC driver from Microsoft in my Windows, but it doesn't seem like it's capable of reading any of the provided table files (DB, and MB) :-(

Do anyone here have any insights on this issue they want to share ?

Thanks RG, but I think that's a little overkill in my case :-)

So far I'm trying to convert the 40-some tables to CSVs with this somewhat cheaper tool: http://www.dbf2002.com/paradox-converter/ It seems to work.

But I also managed to find this nifty tidbit last updated December 2016:

https://pypi.python.org/pypi/pypxlib/1.9

Maybe I should use some of my upcoming off time to see if I can build a Paradox Table Reader with this ? :-)

Oh my, that's positively ancient! But there's good news: Paradox is still around! If it's a one time thing and your budget allows for it it might just be easiest to get a copy of the Wordperfect Office Suite, open it in there and export to a supported format.

Ah, but you get the full Wordperect suite for that! You'd probably be the only person in the country using it though :)
