I installed
smallworld PNI(Physical network inventory)In the same machine
also installed fme desktop 32 2017 with GE smallworld licensing 30 days eval
license.also requested GE
to provide *.dll and *.fmf files for fme(for GE smallworld reader and writer ),
and placed in respective folders.I opened fme
desktop and tried to add the smallworld reader , but fme saying “ unable to
connect smallworld server, is it running?”now how to start
smallworld server ? Do we need to start fme inside PNI ? if yes where should I
go to start fme?I strucked
somewhere. pls help me

We have done numerous project writing to SmallWorld PNI schema.
But we are always using the Spatialbiz plugin for SmallWorld in FME.

@fkemminje - After installing the GE Translators Suite / Module for Smallworld, there should be some instruction in the docs\ directory.
This article might help you out – to initiate the Smallworld VMDS for connections, you must invoke the command to start connections using the Smallworld "command prompt".
