Currently there is not a clear timeframe of when an official version will provide support for point clouds in our I3S writer. For more context and help our Developers, we would appreciate details of your work that requires or would benefit from the I3S writer supporting point clouds. I can then share those details with our Developers and advocate on your behalf regarding the I3S writer.

@edgarbaculi , is there an “unofficial” way to create SLPK point clouds from las or other formats? The main reason we purchased FME Server some years ago was for the creation of point cloud SLPKs and there’s a growing sentiment in the business that FME is never going to make good on what was promised on your website about point cloud support.

Hi, we would also be happy if I3S Writer would support Point Clouds. 

Reason: Rendering of point clouds in ArcGis-Online for presentation purposes. - We use Airborne Laserscanning Data to plan new high-voltage lines and have to present the planning result to decision makers. The easiest & realistic way to represent vegetation (Trees,..) is via dense point clouds.
