Question

Does the MariaDB integration support mysql 8 and, if so, does it overcome the issue where mysql wants to reverse latitude / longitude?

We are running into this issue https://knowledge.safe.com/questions/71601/mysql-database-connection-error.html and don't know if this is representative of what we should expect.

@bfusa,

I wasn't aware of this reverse latitude/longitude issue. It is possible you could manipulate the geometry in FME so that when it is written it is correct. However, it is possible this issue could be resolved in the new 2020.1 beta. If it persists in the latest 2020.1 beta please report back here so we can look at creating an ISSUE.

As I mentioned in the other post, we recently updated FME but we've not done all formal testing yet. The updates are in FME 2020.1 beta and you could download the latest beta at https://www.safe.com/support/downloads/#beta and see if this works for you. Please report back if it does. Thanks for posting.

@bfusa,

We can confirm that MySQL 8 is now supported as of b2020.1.20553. This is still beta as of this posting. FME 2020.1 will be out during the summer of 2020. https://www.safe.com/support/downloads/#beta

This should resolve the reverse latitude/longitude issue as well.
