Hi together,

Is there a way to delete the content of a ffs file but not the file itself? I am using FME 2021.2.0.1.

Thanks for your support

So you just want a zero-byte .ffs file?

I want to delete the content of the file but keeping the names of attributes etc...

I don’t think that’s possible to be honest, the file is not being written if there’s no features.

So the follow-up question is: why do you want this? Maybe there’s another way to make this work for you.

Thanks for your response :)

If we have any entries in the ffs file, which serves as a dictionary, then the following workspace doesn’t write any objects. We need to clear the dict before the following workspace starts, as I understand the process.

Could it be possible to store an ffs file with 1 feature somewhere, where the feature itself can easily be filtered out after reading it? And then write to a different ffs.

Also, what's up with the bot, lol.
