Best way to replace walls from Architectural CAD file with a line

What would be the best method of replacing walls from an architectural CAD drawing with a single line. I have tried a few variations with the Generalizer and not finding one that works well.

I want to take an architectural drawing where the walls are shown as two parallel lines and replace with a single, much simplified version of the lines that preserves the general shape of the rooms. Preciseness and accuracy aren't that important it is just for visualization purposes.

Hi, I would try the following buffer the lines and dissolve the buffers into one polygon, after that use the center line replacer to recreate a single line.
