Hi, I have the following problem: a specific fmw file cannot be opened in the FME workspace. Clicking on it in the list in the FME Workbench tab “Start” gave no response at all. Hoving the mouse on the file in the list showed a popup with the contents of the file. Dragging and dropping the fmw file to the empty workspace did not work.
Other files can be opened without issue. How can I restore the fmw file? I have FME Workbench 2024.0.
When you try to open the fmw file, does FME Workbench log show any error messages?
Is there a recovery file in the same folder as the fmw that you are trying to open?
If you fmw file is x.fmw, then the recovery file will be x.recover.
If a .recover file exists, try renaming it to the same name as .fmw file after copying the file to a different folder, to see if FME can recover the workspace from it.

I would try copying the fwm file to another folder and try opening it from there. Someone else on the Forum gave me this idea and it worked several times.
There was no one error message when I tried to open the fmw file. The next day I tried it again, and yes, it can be opened now! It seems that the last time when I closed it, it has not been saved. Maybe that could be the cause somehow?
