AttributeManager is an midfield all-rounder. He\she keeps the whole team connected, is always involved in controlling the flow of the game and makes everyone around better off. Not to mention the a managerΒ cleans up all dirty features of the game, making others fit. Considered one of thiseΒ players that might not be kicking goals, but is essential to winning.

Cheering for Australian Socceroos, hope to surprise with our youthΒ

Hi @creeatsafeΒ it’s amazing this Question of the Week.

Β

For me the transformer FeatureWriter.

FeatureWriter is the Goal Scoring Striker. ⚽

The entire team works together to create the opportunity for it to put the ball into the back of the net.

It's the transformer responsible for delivering the final result by writing the data to its destination, whether that's Oracle, PostGIS, Shapefile, ArcGIS, SAP, or any other target system.

And of course, I'm supporting Brazil! πŸ‡§πŸ‡·πŸ†βš½

TheΒ TerminatorΒ would have to be the goalkeeper - the last line of defense.Β Capturing any errant features that have evaded the rest of the team and stopping them in their tracks

Β

Has to be the All Whites (Kiwis/NZ) One of only a few times we’ve made it into the world cup!

Couldnt decide on a star player, so I made a whole team.
Goalkeeper: trusted attributekeeper

Defense line:

  • Snapper to get all passing balls
  • Featureholder to stop incoming attacks
  • Decelerator to slow down the opponents

Midfield:

  • Counter and rRprojector to counter (or count them, also useful) the opposing team
  • Pathbuilder and NetworkFlowOrientor to distribute the ball

Attack:

  • Offsetter to offset the ball behind the goal line
  • ShortestPathFinder to find the shortest path into the goal
  • Exposer to expose weaknesses

Oh man, if there’s a topic about β€œFME Code Golf” (lowest amount of transformers in a workspace) the AttributeManager is an ALL-STAR. PythonCaller might be the next one, but for low-code solution, this one is a cheat code, literally….πŸ˜‚ (in the theme of the World Cup, the PC is your specialty player, like someone you go to for corner kicks (eg. Sebastian Berhalter (USA), and AM is your superstar midfielder that coordinates everything together, does offense and defense, makes the passes to other, indispensable two-way threat e.g.Β Declan Rice (England)) ;)Β

Also, GO CANADA GOΒ

For me, the FeatureMerger takes the spot.Β it's the playmaker of any FME workspace. It joins, matches, and enriches data with precision, much like the Dutch style of football: structured, intelligent, and always connecting the right passes at the right time. πŸŸ
