What happened to my table qualifier parameter in FME 2017?

I'm used to setting my table qualifier parameter through a published parameter. This worked very well in 2016, but in 2017 it breaks as the table qualifier is automatically populated in the table name field. What can I do?

Good question!

Unfortunately the table qualifier parameter behaviour broke in FME 2017, resulting in misfiring translations that used a published parameter to populate this information. Currently the workaround is to hard code in the qualifier and save the workspace in 2017 before running in 2017 or 2018. We're also working on a fix for 2018, which will come sometime after the release of 2018.0. We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences this has caused. Stay tuned for the upcoming fix!

Best,

Nathan

UPDATE:

This issue has been fixed as of FME 2018, restoring the table qualifier behaviour to its intuitive original. This fix is available in the latest official release as well as the latest betas.
