Hi, I'm using an Excel template file to chart some data that I write to Excel - I've attached some example data and workspace. When I populate the 'data' sheet, I want the chart to update with the latest data. I've tried to achieve this by setting the chart data source to '=data!$A:$D', so it should look at all rows in those columns), but Excel seems to default to =data!$A$1:$D$1. So when I run the workspace the chart is not updated to reflect the data in the 'data' worksheet.

Does anyone have any other methods for achieving this? I want the chart data source to use dynamic references rather than fixed, so that whatever amount of data is input to the 'data' worksheet, it is plotted on the chart.

Thanks for your hep

Mary

I think we have figured out how to create the Excel template so that the chart updates automatically when you load different datasets. I've added some notes to the original article.

Hi @1spatialmary you may want to try creating a named data range in your template. This tutorial should help you with what you want to do. https://knowledge.safe.com/articles/34364/using-a-template-file-when-writing-excel-data.html
