Hi ppl,

In a workspace I have several published parameters all have the same type (choice), when prompting the translation, some of the parameters have a extra button to select attributes (which is not ncessary) and some do not.

Anybody an idea on how to make the extra button go away? what is causing this difference?

Cheers,

Itay
i think a couple of posts down someone offered a solution.

Trough linking the choice parameter to another non-choice parameter. This then will not have  the extra button.

I dont know what date the post was from, but i know it was a question similar to yours posted by Takashi.

hi again,

post is dated 21 july: but it was a custom transformer with samish issue.

You would have put workspace in a custom transformer first.

Hi Itay,

I reproduced the same situation in these two operations.

1) Add a published parameter (no button) -> Fetch the parameter value with a ParameterFetcher transformer (the button appeared).

2) Add a published parameter (no button) -> Link a transformer parameter to the parameter (still no button) -> Delete the transformer (the button appeared).

Showing/hiding the button seems to be uncontrollable.

Maybe this is a Safe's support matter.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your answers, I have had a look at the mentioned post and didnt get any wiser...:)

@Takashi, thanks for providing the extra information, I will take this up with support.

Just got word from Safe: this behaviour is known and it has been decided to leave it like this.
in fme 2013 buttons always appear

never bothered me.
usually not an issue, unless....you intend it to be used by others that should not be bothered with extra buttons. (just makes the chance of something go wrong slightly bigger)
