Does anyone know how to delete an FME Flow connection in FME Form 2025+?

FME Flow connections used to be configured in the FME Options dialog under the Web Connections tab but they are no longer there in FME 2025. Instead, they are now available from the main FME Form toolbar.

Using the toolbar I can create a new connection, select and edit an existing connection, but I don’t see any option to delete an existing connection. Even the FME Form documentation does not provide any help.

I think you’ve found a bug!

I’m guessing your Connection Storage (under FME Options - Default Paths) is set to FME Flow?

When I set mine to FME Flow I can still see FME Flow connections that are present in my Personal Database, but only in the FME Flow Connection box! When I look for connections in a transformer, I can’t see any of the ones present in the Flow Connection drop down

Tools > FME Options > Web connections > Rclick > Remove

:)

Yes, I’m using FME Flow connection storage. I love it but it doesn’t seem to be very mature in some respects.

Tools > FME Options > Web connections > Rclick > Remove

As mentioned in my post, there are no FME Flow web connections listed under Tools > FME Options > Web Connections. In FME 2025 management of FME Flow web connections has been moved to the widget on the toolbar but the toolbar widget doesn’t provide any option to delete an existing connection.

That is very interesting… I didn’t take the time to read your reply fully but now realise that you’re correct, I don’t have access to any FME Flow connections in the FMEFlowJobSubmitter either, even though they are defined in the toolbar connection widget.

I’ll submit a support ticket with Safe.

That is strange because I have them in

Tools > FME Options > Web connections > Rclick > Remove

2025.0 has it in FMe Options so that is strange..

@50098  there were significant changes made between 2025.0 and 2025.1. To me it’s way more than just a .1 release and more akin to a full version release but I guess Safe wanted to keep some things back from the .0 release so they’d have something to show at the UC, or maybe development just wasn’t quite stable enough to make it into the .0 release.

I love the 2025.1 release and all of the improvements but it feels like it could do with a little more testing with so many new features added!

Very Interesting! Good to know! I would not assumed the .1 would be that different

Hi,

When using FME Flow as the connection storage location in Form, FME Flow connections created from the toolbar widget do not get created in FME Flow. They are created in your personal connection storage, as they have to exist outside of Flow to make the connection from Form to Flow.

  • To delete FME Flow connections, switch to personal connection storage and delete from Utilities/Tools > FME Options > Web Connections.
  • When creating an FME Flow connection to use in a workflow on FME Flow for the first time, the web service needs to exist.
    • If you switch to personal connection storage, you should see the FME Flow connections in Utilities/Tools > FME Options > Web Connections.
    • From there, you can upload the connection to FME Flow - this will upload the connection and its underlying web service.
    • Then, you can switch back to FME Flow connection storage and the connection should be there. Since the web service is also there, you can create new FME Flow connections with FME Flow set as the connection storage.

    • We have an issue filed to look at improving this behavior

I’ve also added more details to our article on Using FME Flow for Connection Storage below:

I hope this helps!

Thanks @mattmatsafe

I wonder if an approach could be that the toolbar connections are their own separate ‘connection type’ that shows regardless of you connection storage settings? Additionally this could then give you the option to copy to/from the toolbar and connection storage

Hi @hkingsbury, interesting idea! I would consider filing it: https://community.safe.com/ideas
It’s a newer feature and I’m hopeful that with the community’s feedback, improvements will be made over time.
