Feature Reader (V15) with Spatial Filter (OGC Within) Failing in FME Form 2024.2

Currently unable to use Feature Reader (version 15) with:

Spatial Filter = "Initiator is OGC-Within Result"

My initiator is a points layer and the Result layer is a polygon layer, both in the same coordinate system.

It gives me a _reader_error of <missing> with no further explanation.

This was upgraded from FME 2022.2 Feature Reader Version(13). No changes to any settings.

When I copy/paste the version 13 Feature Reader from FME 2022 back into this 2024 workspaces and run it, it works just fine.

Has functionality changed? If so, can someone point me to the doc that explains it?
Or is this a bug?

@agelfert

Can you check if the path to the file for the FeatureReader is correct?

Sounds like a bug to me but it might have been fixed already in FME 2025.

If it were me I would test this in the latest version of FME (The beta) and if still present there make a workspace which you can send to safe via support so they can fix it.

Thanks for the feedback. I have the same input routing to different versions of the feature reader. V13 works, V15 fails. It’s quite possible that I’m doing something wrong but I don’t know what that might be.

Submitted support ticket.

I’m told by support that this has been fixed in FME 2025. Since I won’t be upgrading to 2025 for a while, I’ll just keep that old transformer around.
