Most likely not an issue - what is your "non-prod" license type. In your case it's just for testing. I would have no issue doing the same thing. To me your 'old' FME server is still your production FME Server so until this new FME Server actually becomes the production server then it's not a production server. Just a server in your production environment.

hmm, usually you get one license code per FME Server instance. At least as far as I understand. A Floating license server suggest that maybe you're talking about FME Desktop? Could that be the case?

@virtualcitymatt Yeah that's correct. By FME Server, I meant that I have an ec2 machine on which FME 2021.2 Desktop is installed

oooh - right yeah then there is most likely no issue there. FME Desktop licensing is essentially just limited by how many seats you have available.
The limitation comes where it's a fixed license as that is typically tied to a single machine. As long as your ec2 can connect you your license server and you have free seats you have no issue.
Unless of course you have some special license agreement with Safe then your better off contacting your account manager or Sales at Safe directly. I'm just some guy...
