My organization is switching our license to an ESRI Edition license, but my client has Professional Edition instaled. Can I run this way while I wait to upgrade my client application?

Hi @jvonr

You should be able to use FME Desktop with any license tier.

The installer is the same for all versions of FME, the capabilities are restricted by the license itself.

The differences from Professional to ESRI are a few Readers and Writers.

If you steer clear of those formats until your client upgrades their licenses you should be ok.

Yes, that is correct. As long as you are using the formats that are not in the Esri edition.

Refer to this page (Format Matrix) to check the formats available for the Professional version.
