Draping polygonal features on a TIN?

Please I want to drape some 2D polygons on a TIN generated using TINGenerator transformer, using the SurfaceDraper transformer does't drape them correctry (it drapes only the vertices of the polygons) even if we change the parameter Drape Method to "Model" instead "Vertex".I think we must triangulate the polygons before draping them on the surface, but I don't know how to make it using FME transformers!

fieldlist without sorter

Hi, I'm working with a workbench, found on https://knowledge.safe.com/articles/1127/write-mic...I'm trying to change the order of the columns, writen in the MSwordtable transformer. The order I want to get, is "type", "omschrijving", "VH", "eenheid".I managed the order of the attributes (with the attributemanager). this can be seen when I uncheck the "sorted" bullet, on the right sight of the image below. (this is the result how I want it)In the fieldlist parameter, I indicated which columns should be used. now, this order is not used in die fieldlist parameter, instead, FME uses the order "type", "VH", "eenheid", "omschrijving".When I look closer, this parameter is always "sorted" (I do not know how it is sorted, definitely not alphabetically).when I uncheck the "sorted", I get the order like I want (see right part of the image below), but clicking on the OK button mak

Remove Trailing Spaces

Hi there,I want to remove all spaces after a string. Example:TestString1[ ]TestString2[ ] whereas only the empty spaces after TestString2 should be removed.I have a solution for removing leading spaces with the StringReplacer which is ^[\s]* but I want to remove only the empty spaces at the end.Many thanks and kind regardsThomas

Problems while exporting multiple tracks in shapefiles and gpx format

I was experimenting with a generalizer transformer. As input I have 1 GPX file with 1 track and its trackpoints. After generalizing (smoothing) I wanted to write the original GPX file and the smoothened file into 1) a shape file and 2 another named GPX-file. See the workflow above.I noticed that the shapefile showed two different tracks (correct!), whereas the GPX file gave two identical tracks, e.g. twice the original track. The transforming seems to be doing its job, but it's the actule GPX-writing that is going wrong. Does anybody have any suggestions?Kind regards Pim Verver

help with building multi-part geometry features

HiI'm working with some street/road data - lines, and want to use the LengthToPoint calculator, but it does not accept aggregates as input. To get around this I've used a Line Joiner to combine the aggregates first, but this only joins connected parts of my aggregate and discards the rest. Any ideas on how to work around this?Below is a description of the logic/process/reasoning,..Segments are the buildings blocks (these have geometry), and Streets are comprised of segments. Many streets can exist for a segment. See image below.I want to assign some Street-level attributes to the segment lines. The attributes do not have geometry but are related to the geometry through a lookup table, and the attributes contain start/end coordinates that specify which part of the Street the attributes should be assigned to - indicated roughly by 'x' on the image above.I've built the Street level geometry by feature merging the lookup table onto the Segment geometry, and then Aggrega

Extract polygon from raster file

Hello all,I want to extract a polygon features from a raster file. I know that has the transformer RastertoPolygonCoercer makes this job. The problem is that my raster file has _num_rows = 8701 and _num_columns = 5889, and this process is not work because the memory crash.My raster file has a pixel Blank pixel RGB = 254, and i dont need this pixel value. My question is: has a way to remove this blank pixel RGB = 254 before to use the transformer RastertoPolygonCoercer?

Find polygons that overlap at least 80% with another layer

I have a layer with around 50,000 polygons (land parcels). I have another 20 different planning overlay layers that cover different extents.I would like to produce a report/CSV of land parcels for each planning layer listing the land parcels that will be affected by that planning layer.At least 80% of the property should overlap with planning overlay to qualify. Can someone point me in the right direction please.What I tried so far:I tried with clipper but is there a way to set a buffer percentage. I tried the AreaOnAreaOverlay and SpatialRealtor and I could not understand the way they work so I could not get that working. Finding the nearest point on line from a point outside the line

I have two points inside a polygon (blue line in fig). From each point I want to find the shortest line to the polygone (nearest point on polygone line). The NeigborhoodFinder do'nt act the way I expect (red line in fig). How do I do this?

RGEX Deleting or Replacing anything after underscore

I still struggle with RGEX which is what I suspect is needed to accomplish a find and replace. I assume that StringReplacer is the transformer I should use, but I struggle with the REGEX.I have 2 columns of data with various underscores followed by some character or words. Typically, it is _V and if was just that then I figured out how to do that, but I also have as other examples: VTF_SH_NNN_V, MSA_Name_NNN, and others. So, basically, I jut want to find "_ and delete it and anything after it. Can someone help me with the RGEX code. Thanks.

HiI am sure that I have seen this before but how can I create a polygon from a single point. I only want to make the polygon 3m in diameter. I thought that there was a transformer but I can not find anything now....Any suggestions welcome.

I want to smooth my polygons - not reduce them to triangles

What I have: a set of shapefiles with polygons. (I also have a fmw that worked well in 2016.0. I have since upgraded to FME 2016.1)What I want: These polygons are vertex heavy (>500 pts for a rectangle), and I am going to smooth them (down to a dozen or less vertexes) as well as write them in 2D only. What I did: I added a [2DForcer] and a [Generalizer].What I experience: Using Douglas (Tolerance = 0) there is no effect. Using Douglas (Tolerance >= 1) will have my rectangles reduced to triangles. I also tried with other algorithms, with variations of unexpected geometry degenerations.My question is simply a "what is it I don't see?", as in the past version of FME this worked fine. Network Statistics calculator

Using a geometric network, traversing from Source to all sinks, I am looking for a solution that will derive statistics on each junction that would tell me number of junctions downstream, branches on each junction downstream and lengths of every segment on each branch of the junction towards the sinks..I thought I've seen a custom transformer that can partially do this but I can't find it.

I want to pick up junctions with a certain weight along my network and determine how many more nodes and line features that are on each branch coming out of each selected junction.

Error in exercise

@redgeographicsI am very new to FME but it could be that there's an error in an exercise in the Advanced course, namely Performance-Ex5a-Complet.fmw. There's a Group By on NeighbourhoodName in the last Transformer: NeighborFinder. However, when running the workspace the NeighborhoodName attribute remains empty. It is only when I put a Reprojector transformer after both PostalAddres and Firehalls readers and set the CRS on LL84 (like the Neighborhoods reader) that the error is solved.

line direction at intersections

Hi All, i have a stormwater pipe network with flow direction (digitised direction) . Im trying to check for instances were all pipes are either all coming together or all flowing away from each other at an intersection. (like the picture attached or the opposite of the picture attached where they all flow away from the intersection. I have tried using the polylineAnalyzer (vertex output) ,also decomposing the lines to their first and last node and intersecting them but i cant quite crack it! Any help or suggestions would be greatly received. maybe im on the wrong track.. Many Thanks again, Steve

Concatenate to solve for duplicate values

I have an issue where I want to concatenate data with header from the row. I have BLS file that has CBSA/MSA data by state. I need to concatenate the CBSAs of each state with the state name which begins in the row. Each state is separated by space. So, for example Alabama, then the list of CBSA/MSAs, then a space, followed by the next state, followed by CBSAs, etc. So, I want to be able to read the file and create a new column with the CBSA Name and State Name so it creates a unique identifier. I need this unfortunately because some states have CBSA/MSAs with the same name. The file is what I would say is semi-unstructured. @takashi

Matching Polygons

Hi, I have two different feature classes which contain many polygons that are very similar in size and shape. I want to assign the attributes of polygons from Feature Class 2 to similar polygons in Feature Class 1.I tried to use SpatialFilter by buffering one set of polygons and then using the "Contains" predicate to attach attributes of the second set of polygons of similar shape to the first set. However, the buffer that I used to make sure I get all the similar ones (5m) then attaches attributes of some smaller polygons that fit within the buffer, which I don't want.Is there any other type of transformer I could use where I set a percentage of the shape that is the same to be matched (eg. 90% of polygon A from Feature Class 1, is the same as 90% of polygon B from Feature Class 2)? I tried Matcher and matching the interior vertices, but this didn't work as none of them matched.I'm using FME Desktop 2015.Thanks,

Json flattener and extractor

Hi All. my first delve into reading Json, i have read all the fme material and help sections about using the text file reader then json flattener then list exploder but cant seem to have any success. Im trying to read each "feature" and obtain its "properties" then create a geom from its "coordinates" i can read the "size", "mimeType", "compression" and "text" values but i cant drill down any further in the "text" object. I have tried JsonFlattener with exposing attributes features.properties{}, text.feature.properties{} but no list get generated for the Listexploder. Any help or suggestions on how to move forward would be much appreciated @takashi. Neighbour finder candidate’s first question

Hi,Can someone explain to me what the advantage is of having the candidates first set to yes is in the following example is?In the scenario that we can ABSOULTELY GUARENTEE that all candidates arrive at the transformer before the bases; and if candidates first IS set to yes, do the bases pass through transformer quicker? Basically if the candidates are already waiting in the transformer do the bases just pass straight through, essentially meaning that it is NOT acting as a blocking transformer. If this is NOT the reason what is the actual point of the setting and when/why would you use it? (I understand that if it is set to candidates first and the bases arrive first that they pass straight through without finding a neighbour). Normally I set it to NO just to make sure that no relationships are potentially missed but I am interested to know why you would set it as yes.Thanks in advance. Rob

?rename attributes

Hello, I would like to delete the first record/row of my table and use its values as the attribute names instead, e.g. I would like to call the second attribute "Unit" instead of "A". I can't specify that the first row is the header when I'm reading the file because I need to do some modifications in FME before the renaming. Which transformer/s should I use? Secondly I would like to delete columns F-H by multiplying row 3, 4, 6 and 8. The aim is to have only one column that is called "Replacing". Thank you for your help!
