Adjust positions of non-end nodes in a line?

I have the following issue:A bridge and the road below, standard 2D lines, both have nodes with identical coordinates - i.e. they share a "node location". When I want to output this dataset to OSM XML, the writer creates a connection in this point, even though they are not connected in realit". I've tried to separate them by Z-coordinate, but that had no effect. Therefore, my guess is that it creates a "node cache" with the coordinates as key, which means they will share a node because they share a coordinate.With this in mind, my solution would be to slightly adjust the position of these internal nodes that overlap. Probably with just a minor change(cm? mm?), the nodes will not be cached to the same location. However, I've got no idea how to A) access all non-start or non-end nodes of a line and subsequently B) slightly and randomly alter their position.

Python based transformer cleanup ?

Hi,A Python based transformer has these three scaffold "defs": __init__(), input() and close()."__init__" is called once when the transformer instance is initialized in the workflow. "input" is called for each feature, and "close" is called after the last feature has been sent (= when the workspace is done, I assume).In case of a workspace crashing, the former two have a well-defined behaviour. But will "close()" be called for each transformer after a crash too ? Or is everything just thrown down the drain ?I'm contemplating whether multiple transformers can share a common resource, but that only works if the resource in question is created/initialized once, and only disposed when all transformers have been closed. I.e. have had their "close()" routine called.Cheers

How to properly retrieve multiple-tables results of a sqlserver stored procedure ?

Hi ! I run a stored proc. from sqlserver whose results consists of roughly 10 "tables"/"datasets". (some of them might be empty for certain values of the exec parameters) When called several time with different parameters from a SQLExecutor, the result is a stack of every line of result from every table for every iteration of the call... I want to call a python script for each iteration of the call, that will do different things with each dataset of the result... how to split the lines of the result back through each iteration of the call and each dataset ? (And How to know which tables of the results where empty ?) Any way to get the cursor metadata in attributes (ex : the dataset index in the result cursor)?

splitting records with multiple delimiters?

Hello,I have a CSV dataset that is mostly records like this, with a "|" delimiter2185996|SP213604|1|C|P|UK|||||857||||GYMPIE|RD||CHERMSIDE|BRISBANE CITY|1000|-27.38682393|153.03160112|PC|GDA94However, some of the records also have a "," delimiter2388577|SP246762|6|C|P|UK||||WHELLER ON THE PARK|950||||GYMPIE|RD||CHERMSIDE|BRISBANE CITY|1000|-27.38253041,-27.380533|153.02547625,153.027633|PC,BC|GDA94This is a dataset of street addresses and property points. Most points are "parcel centre" or PC. But some also have a "building centre" BC. These records have two lats, two longs and two types, separated by commas.Is there a transformer in FME that will split each of these records into two records?

Is there a way to extract a specific part of an aggregate by it's index other than deaggregating and testing the resulting features to find the one where _part_number = index.I'm thinking there might be a way to use XQuery/GeometryPartExtractor

ESRI Shape file to Smallworld Transformation

I am trying to convert "GEOGCS["GCS_Hartebeesthoek_1994",DATUM["D_Hartebeesthoek_1994",SPHEROID["WGS_1984",6378137.0,298.257223563]],PRIMEM["Greenwich",0.0],UNIT["Degree",0.0174532925199433]]" to Transverse Mercator (CM). This is South African Data. I am trying to migrate from ESRI-Shape file to GE Smallworld through FME and the data is not falling correctly in Smallworld. Request support.

Next Date Calculation

Hi All,I am trying to calculate the next date from a starting date - for example Waste collection. I have a starting date in 2015 and would like to calculate the next pick up. Pickup is every 7 days. In Excel you can using the CEILING function to round up to the next multiple of 7.Is there any way that this function could be implemented in FME?Thanks, Matt

Looping features into a random attribute value creator

I bookmarked a group of transformers that will create a random attribute value of fixed length and a text format of T######## (where T is a random capital letter and # is a random number between 0-9). I used an unconditional featureMerger to merge the value to my features . I need to be able to loop each feature into the bookmark so I can generate random value for each feature in the transformer.With my current workspace I can only pass one value to each feature. Workspace below.

Join 2 columns

Hello All, I have 2 columns that I need to merge into one. Columns are different attributes of a single feature class. If Address 1 has populated field, then they are accepted. If Address 1 is null, then Address 2 is checked and information from that column will be copied to Address 1. If both columns are populated, Address 1 is accepted. Any ideas of how I would do that? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Some polygons disappear with dissolver.

Hello! Some polygons disappear in the transformer dissolver, it doesn´t matter if I use group by or not. Coordinaterounder, Densifier, Snapper fix some problem but other polygons disappear instead.Geometry validator with no result. Tips or idea?

Can I generate polygons from a point based dataset

I have a layer that contains both polygon and point features that represent individual and groups of high risk trees, I would like to convert all the features contained within the layer into polygons. I thought about generating a small buffer (2m) for each point and then disolving the individual features with there retrosoective buffer feature in order to link required attribute data. Is there an eaxy way I can achieve this with FME?

Unexpected Output with the FeatureMerger

Hi World of FME,I am a newbie with FME but I already worked a lot with the FeatureMerger. But at the moment I have a problem with an output I cannot really explain. In the screenshot you see the attribute tables, that enter the FeatureMerger as Requestor und Supplier. Also you see the transformer output I expect and below you see the real output: No feature could be merged and I have no idea what the problem is.Thank you for answers or hints,Felix

Transposing attributes like Excel does

Hello,I am reading a folder containing various Excel files of the same schema. The difference between the files is the date and the content, the structure is always the same. My goal is to create a line diagram in a new Excel file. I want to use the "ChartGenerator". My Problem now is to prepare the data to be used within the ChartGenerator:I will have a bunch of records as illustrated in the "Start" section of the above pic. For every additional date I will have an additional record. I need to convert the data as illustrated in the "End" section. For every additional date I will need an additional column. The various existing Posts regarding transposing data do not seem to tackle my issue.Any ideas?

How to convert Atoll clutter/heights to Mentum Planet format?

Hi I have MSI Planet data files [or maybe Asset] (index.txt and clutter/heights.bin), which i use for Atoll. I want to convert them in Vertical Mapper Grid file format (clutter.grc and heights.grd) for Mentum Planet. I tried to use FME Desktop for converting, but when i import already converted clutter.grc and heights.grd files in Mentum Planet, it gives me like this error > Heights does not have a reference point (0,0). Clutter does not have a reference point (0,0). Can any one help me about this issue? Thanks

Mapping null attributes

I'm doing a lot of point on area overlay and area on area overlays. The values are all coming from an oracle database.When using the nullattributemapper as shown below it works.However, the problem here is that I'm updating another oracle table and this option provides some attribute values to be only an apostrophe (') while I want to have those attribute values being mapped to an empty string.So instead of choosing map to 'New value', I have tried without success to map those values to 'empty string' and I don't understand what is the issue.

Create vertice in the middle of existing vertice

Hello World of FME,I want to create vertice in the middle of existing vertice. This might be no problem but there is a huge amount of vertice and the creation of the new ones has to be realized by a special schmema you can see in the pictures. There should be created new points between serial vertice of the same line. Every vertex has information about the id of its line. And every point has a number which describes the chronology. An old and a new attribute table of the points is attached.Thank you for your answers!Felix

Matcher - how do attributes get merged in SingleMatched output port?

When using Matcher, "A single copy of each set of matched features is sent to the SingleMatched port. The attributes on these features will be merged onto the single output feature."How do attributes get merged (which ones are kept and which lost), and what happens to geometry?With FeatureMerger, you choose which source attributes are output, so you know what you're going to get.This is based on sending 2 source datasets (old and new) to Matcher for comparison on an ID field. Should Matcher only be used on a single dataset?

Find a line within a line?

I've been trying to find lines that are on top of another line feature of the same class, but different lengths. I can currently identify any features of the same feature class that are duplicates of one another based upon geometry and/or attributes with the matcher and duplicate filter, but can't seem to figure out how to identify the shorter line segments that are within a line. Sometimes they have shared vertices and sometimes they will not.

Transform files using fme server

Localy I am using Quick translator or generete workspace to tranform files och coordinatesystem. But we have only one license on fme desktop and today I am the only one that transform files and coordinates for several employers. I want to create a workspace on FME server that can be used by multiple employers. Is it possible.? I know how to upload a workspace on fme server. But I am unsure on the detaljs of the script.
