Startup Command Line Command

Hello,I have configured a SystemCaller to delete all files and sub-directories within a specified directory, without deleting the specified directory. Originally, the plan was to have this at the end of the workspace, but now, we want the directory to be emptied at the start of the workspace, before any of the readers are initiated. I know this can be done using a startup Python script, but I was wondering if there is a way to call a startup command line command (so I can use the code I already wrote). I thought about changing my first reader to a FeatureReader, then using a creator to initiate the SystemCaller, then have the SystemCaller initiate the FeatureReader... but I was wondering if there was a more direct way to do this?Thanks!Courtney

Great Circle Route (loxodrome) Transformer

Hi, There used to have a transformer for generating Great Circle Routes in Google Earth developed by Dmitri in the FME Store. I can't seem to locate it anywhere now. I am working on a project to plot the flight routes between airports and this tool would be a time saver. Please advise if it is still available.  Regards, Lawrence

Split data stream into multiple of 1000 features

In a SQLExecuter, I'm using a SELECT statement where PKey IN (@Value(ID) I'm getting the oracle error:ORA-01795: maximum number of expressions in a list is 1000,as the number of of concatenated ID's passing the query is exceeding the 1000 limit.so I used an Aggregator and a Smapler trying to split the stream of data entering the SQLExecuter (every 1000 features), but that didn't work as I wish.. (pass a pack of every 1000 features to SQLEXECUTER)Any idea?

Combine raster data pixel values

Dear FME-Users,  I’ve 3 input rasters with the same CRS, extension and resolution.  The aim is to get 1 output raster by combining all pixel values.  For each pixel the highest value from the import rasters should be used.  In the attachment you’ll find 3 rasters. The color cyan is “low” and the colors to red are “higher”.  Do you have an idea?  Thank you so much.  Best regards!  Konrad

Raster Palette Ranges

I am trying to create a colour palette for a single band raster, where the cell values range from the -1 to 1. Is it possible to create a colour palette where the resultant RGB colour are referenced to a cell value via a range than the exact matching of a single value? For example how could the range values and colours listed below be used to visualise a raster? class_range,r,g,b [-1.0]..[-0.6],252,141,89 [-0.2]..[0.2],255,255,191 [0.6]..[1.0],145,191,219 Is this possible? If so can anyone provide some advice? I am using FME Desktop 2015.1. Regards, Rob

Swapping Raster Bands

Can anyone provide advice regarding the easiest method to swap raster bands around? For example, I have a 4 band raster, Band{0} Interpretation Type (Red16) Band{1} Interpretation Type (Green16) Band{2} Interpretation Type (Blue16) Band{3} Interpretation Type (Uint16) And I want to complete the following swapping Band{3} -> becomes -> Band{0} Band{0} -> becomes -> Band{1} Band{1} -> becomes -> Band{2} Band{2} -> becomes -> Band{3} Is it possible to manipulate/flip the bands directly within the raster? (How would this be done?) Or do the bands need to be separated into singular elements and then recombined and ordered? (How would this be done?) Also relating to this example, in the source raster described above, the Interpretation type of band{3} differs from Bands{0}..{2}. If the bands were swapped would I need to also need to change the interpretation types as below? Band{3} Interpretation Type (Uint16) -> becomes -> Band{0} Interpretation Type

NetCDF - no CRS desposited

Dear FME-community, I use NetCDF-Data for a FME-Transformation as input (Reader). The problem is that there’s no CRS (Coordinate Reference System) deposited. I've add a screenshot (Inspector) in the attachment. "Koordinatensystem" stands for CRS and "Unbekannt" stands for unknown (Line 2).What I’m doing wrong? Has somebody an idea with transformer I’ve to use? Thank your very much and best regards! Konrad

Raster questions and advice

Hi, Can anyone answer these questions in order to aid my understanding of Rasters? Apologies but there are a few questions, some are general and some are specially FME related. 1. If a raster file contains multiple bands, do the bands ALWAYS have to be of the same numerical interpretation type? ( if this is true the presumably this would be due to a restriction of the data structure/model?) For example: band{0}=Uint8 band{1}= Uint8 band{2}=Uint8 Or could you have mixed types as in: band{0}=Uint8 band{1}= Int16 band{2}=Real32 band{3}=Int8 2. Within FME is there a way to ‘expose’ the interpretation type of band/s within a raster? If so what method could I use to do this? I have used RasterPropertyExtractor to obtain many details of the raster file, including the number of bands, but I cannot ascertain the actual interpretation types using this method. Essentially, I want to understand whether numerous raster files all have the same band interpretation type. 3. I have a mixed set of R

How does the 2015 transformer DuplicateRemover work?

I've written a workspace in the 2015 version of FME, with five readers, which all have one column headed 'REFERENCE'. The transformer 'DuplicateRemover' is producing two outputs: 'Unique' and 'Duplicate', but the inspectors reveal that both outputs contain unique values. In 'Duplicate', there are both duplicate values and unique values. Why is this, and how can I resolve this to produce only duplicate values in the 'Duplicate' output?

Opposite from an Extruder?

I have this problem. I Have surfaces (triangles) which looks like an extruded surface. (with a ground layer and a layer above) like feature looks like coming out from an Extruder transformer.  Which transformer i use to get only the "roof" layer (the highest layer or thickness)...so in my opinion to delete all triangles which goes from roof to ground level.I dont know if i use the right english words to explain my problem.GreetzFranco

ShortestPathFinder problem

I have a simple workflow trying to find a shortest path between 2 points. I am using a Cook County (Chicago) road network and a Creator to enter from and to points. How would you improve attribute handling with the data provided below?

With the workflow and data I attached, I am looking for suggestions as to how I can modify the workflow to make it more efficient in accomplishing what I want it to do (e.g. How to manipulate attribute information more effectively to cover multiple specifications; Gender, Province and Cancer Type in this example). I also attached a sample output indicating what sort of format and output results I would like to see (e.g.). New ideas are welcome.

Microstation DGNStyler

I am currentley using FME 2015 and i want to use dgn styler to , amongst other things, set the color of polygon object to a microstation V8 dgn file.  For some Features i need to set the rgb value, for other features the indexed color from the color table. But in the resulting dgn file i do not see the desired result at all. For rgb values i use , for example 124, 211,64 values, for the indexed color a numerial value from 0-255 range.  What am i doing wrong here ?

Are there any 'magical' attributes to check Autocad features version?

We keep data in commercial geodatabase but need to communicate with subcontractor via Autocad format. Subcontractor makes some changes in original file. Is it possible to handle in FME only changes in efficient way? Are there any smart way to get which features were changed/added? Any native (Autocad) flag to store feature version or else good practice? We don't want to make geometry matching with original and revised data.

Joining to an existing excel spreadsheet

Hi, I have an existing excel spreadsheet that I want to update with values calculated in an FME workbench. The existing excel spreadsheet contains a column with a unique ID that I want to join on from the data in the FME workbench. I know how to join within a workbench using FeatureMerger or Joiner, but trying to join on a writer seems a bit more difficult.  Any ideas? Thanks,

New to FME, question regarding change detector

I am trying to compare the differences between 2 csv files. They each have the same format but one contains an extra row of data. I have them linked as readers to the original and revised options of the transformer and 3 csv output writers for unchanged, added and deleted. I only get output for unchanged and the csv file is blank. Am I missing something? My search on the forums here says it should be very straight forward..

How to clamp altitudes down on WGS84?

Hi everyone!I have several building models in SWEREF99 which is the coordinate system used in Sweden. I successfully converted coordinates to WGS84-geocentric using csMapReprojector but buildings are now several meters above the surface of WGS84. How can I clamp those buildings to WGS84?P.S: The height reference used in Sweden is called RH2000.Thanks in advance!

Styling lines using the mapnik rasterizer

Hi,I have administrative boundaries as lines that I want to rasterize. One boundary pattern looks like this:However, according to the type of boundary the number of dots and lines vary.So far I have experimented with the "line pattern" symbolizer where I reference a png-file with the above pattern. The result, well, horrible:The blue line illustrates the original vector line. I would like the line pattern to be more dense and less blurred! Well, tommorow I will try the symbolizer "line", maybe I need to "stack" different styles? No clue yet.The following sceenshots shows what it should look like:

GLTF Writer doesn't write one single json file

We use fme version 2017.0 (build 17143) and want to use the writer <glTF GL Transmission Format>.Although we set the glTF File Format to <Single JSON file> we get 2 files, a gltf and a bin file.What are we doing wrong?Thank you.

Match features when multiple attributies are the same

Expose TestFilter output port names or write them to attribute?

I have a dataset containing highway defects that I want to fanout to separate layers for potholes, blocked drains, etc. However there is no attribute which can immediately be used for fanout. The information required for fanout is part of the value of one of the attributes, but the whole value is not always the same e.g. "aaaa Pothole xyz", "bbbb Pothole abc", etc.I have used a TestFilter to create output ports for different defect types e.g. If "@value(fieldname) CONTAINS Pothole" then output through "Pothole" port, If "@value(fieldname) CONTAINS Blocked Drain" then output through "Blocked Drain" port. I then realised what I wanted to do was pick up the output port name somehow and use that to fanout out the data (e.g. in the writer set the table name to something like "highway_defects_@value(output_port_name)".I could have a separate writer for each defect type, but the solution I'm going with at the moment
