Problem drawing polygon that crosses the 180th meridian

Hello everyone,I want to draw a polygon that crosses the 180th meridian and obtain this geometry (created manually, splitting the feature into two separate polygons): Instead I obtain this: I don't understand why the geometry won't generate properly. FME creates the polygon with the greatest distance between points instead of the shortest. I have to do this for many polygons and also lines, with much more complex boundaries, so I can't do this manually like this one. Any idea on how I can achieve this?Here is the workspace I used to generate these geometries: Thank you very much

Hi allI have the edges of a road and want to be able to measure the distance between the two edges perpendicular to the left hand edge at a distance every 10 metres.Any suggestions on how to complete this as I can not get my head around it.Thanks in advance.

How to create offset Parallel Lines?

Hi,I'm trying to build a workbench to help design run lines for survey planning. I have a feature class as input (reader) with a single polyline feature. I have two published parameters, number of lines to create and offset distance between lines. I then want the work bench to take the input line, and create the number of lines specified in the published parameter, offsetting each line from the last one created by the specified distance. For example, if I specify 5 lines and a 10m offset, I have 5 lines (plus the original input line) spaced 10m apart from each other. I am looking at cloner and offsetter, but this only offsets the cloned lines from the input feature, how do I get all lines offset from each other?Kind Regards,Rob

How to remove gaps in lines created from lists of coordinates

Hello, this problem probably has a very simple solution but I'm struggling to come up with anything! My input is a large number of CSV files where each CSV contains a list of coordinates that form a route. Within each route, there are different travel modes which each need to be represented by a separate line. The travel mode for a segment within a route is identified by an attribute in the input CSV. To create the lines, I am using a PointConnector transformer, using both the 'route ID' and 'travel mode' attributes as the Connection Break Attributes.If we joined the the list of coordinates for a route all together, they would form a continuous line, but because we are breaking the routes up by travel mode, the output segments have gaps between them where their ends should meet. actual result: desired result: The gaps are occurring because the start coordinates of one travel mode segment, are also the end coordinates of the previous segment: If anyone has ideas abou

Grab first 1000 records

I am using Sampler to grab fisrt 1000 records but it reads all 2 million records that I am dealing with before grabbing first 1000 values. How do I avaoid it? Thanks.

MapnikRasterizer:how to rotate a Marker-Symbolizer

Hi,this time I need to rotate a svg-symbol based on an attributive value. I have set the parameters asfollows:The parameters in the screenshots for rotation (e.g. 30 degree) and the optional coordinates of the rotation point are hard coded. In the real application they will be filled based on attributes.Well I get this error:Invalid Mapnik style configuration. The error was: Failed to parse transform: 'transform="rotate(30,427000,5670000)"I have tried different Syntax, without success. Do you have any ideas? Maybe the integrated mapnik engine does not support rotation?

Tool to disperse points around an identical position ?

Hi,I'm continiously acquiring tasks for internal FME execution that previously was done by a mix of command lines and t-sql. One of the tasks involved was dispersing points with identical coordinates to unique positions in the vicinity. This task is currently kept in a stored procedure.I would like to also transfer this functionality to FME proper.Before I venture into recoding the stored procedure into a custom transformer, I'd like to hear, if anyone has encountered a similar problem, and has found a good solution ?Cheers.

Any way to exclude entries from one reader that don't have a matching value in another?

I have a simple translation setup in FME to check if certain points are within a proper postcode polygon.The guidelines I am checking against is that there should be one point per postcode and if the postcode of the point is "12555" then it should be in the "12555" polygon. Easy enough to check. However, the problem I'm running into is there are PO boxes which have a postcode but do not have a polygon to go with it. I need to somehow filter out the points that do not have a matching polygon and then send the rest on to the PointOnAreaOverlayer and the tester.I originally thought this would be possible with a TestFilter or Matcher but I'm not having any luck getting the result I need.Anyone know what I need to use for this?Thanks.

Spatialrelator is dropping attributes, how do I fix that?

I have a model that uses SpatialRelator to join two datasets for me to do further analysis on. I noticed that I was getting fewer results than I should be getting and after researching it a bit, I've noticed that SpatialRelator is taking an input in that every feature has an attribute for in a certain field. As soon as it comes out of SpatialRelator it loses about half of the attributes of the join. (In this case, 140 out of a total of 295 had attributes, the rest were dropped.)Is anybody else noticing that this transformer is dropping attributes? Any ideas on how to fix this? Derive largest inscribed convex polygon

Hello!I have polygon geometry representing water areas obtained from satellite imagery. They are sometimes very large and include multiple rivers inside the same polygon. I would need to decompose/split those huge polygons into smaller ones in order to have one distinct polygon for each river. This is just one polygon:I would need to identify the main tributaries and seperate them into distinct polygons. Tributaries would be cut from the main stem more or less according to the following dividing line:I am still not sure how this could be automated given the very irregular nature of the polygon. I would also need to decide what a relevant tributary is (width of the junction and/or area upstream,...).I have made some attempts at obtaining a sort of skeleton using the CenterLineReplacer transformer but it ends up with a crash even after generalization. I am also looking at whether it would be possible to have FME calculate the biggest inscribed convex polygons and use the result of these

Clipper problems

Hi.I have these polygons:I want to clip the big one with the small one and keep the rest. They are in different layers.I use the Clipper transformer:- Clipper: layer with the small polygon (DGN) - Clipee: layer with the big polygon (DGN)The result should be in the Outside port, but it is in the Inside one. Why is that? I have cut thousands of polygons this way and this is the first time somathing like this has happened. I can't use the Inside port, beacuse I would get a lot of data I don't want.Thanks for any help provided!FME Desktop 2016.

How to create an arch solid - arch roof?

Hi, i have Polygon shapefile(footPrint.shp) with wall height for FloorSurface and WallSurface. RoofSurface will be separated into small surface parts by lines with matching heights in Line shapefile (roofEdge_arch.shp). Duplicate elements according the multiple attribute values ?

Hi,I'm faced with a task, where I need to duplicate some elements with regard to several attribute values (if they have one). It's not a filter since any of the attributes may or may not have a value, so each oruginal element may yields between 0 and N copies of itself.I can't seem to find a suitable transformer for such a task. Can anyone point me towards one.I would prefer not to have to hard code this with multiple transformer paths with several transformers.Cheers.

working out distance but not line of sight

HiOdd one. I need to work out the distance between two points however I need it to exclude an area so the distance would need to work around the area instead of working it out as line of sight?Any ideas?

GEOTIFF Reprojection

I am fairly new to FME, especially using FME for spatial work. Most of my experience with FME has been with data (JSON, CSV, XML, etc).I have 2 GEOTIFF files both with the Coordinate System of NonEarth Meter. I would like to reproject the coordinates to Calgary_3TM_WGS_1984_W114, which is the coordinate system of a Shape file.Then, with the 2 GEOTIFF files and the 1 Shape file, I intend to make separate KMZ files to allow layering onto a base map.Any assistance/insight would be greatly appreciated.Also, my files are too large to attach but I am willing to have open dialog via email.

FMEObjects Worker has stopped working

Hello,Recently updated FME 2015 to 2016 version. Whenever I open a dataset in Data Inspector the FMEObjects Worker error dialog opens up. The problem details are as below.
