I have a Excel in which some cells have STRIKEOUT text. I can find the cells where the whole cell text is STRIKEOUT by using the advise of the below post.

Recognize "strikethrough" in cells | Community

But the cells which have STRIKEOUT text and normal text are not recognized. I need to exclude the STRIKEOUT text and work further with NON STIKEOUT text, even if both are in one cell.

The first record I can find and exclude but the third record STRIKEOUT is not recognized. Is there a way I can only read NON STIKEOUT text if it is included with STIKEOUT text?

The STIKEOUT text could also be part of a sentence like: abcdefghijek mno pgrs tuvwxyz

where pqrs should be left out.

Hi @wil,

Thank you for posting your question on the FME Community! Apologies for the delayed response. Unfortunately, I don’t believe FME is capable of filtering out strikeout text if a cell also includes non-strikeout text.

I believe you may have to filter out and remove the text with strikethrough another way, such as through an Excel macro script.

I encourage you to click this link and submit an idea capturing your product improvement suggestions for being able to detect text with strikethrough formatting, and not just cells with strikethrough formatting. Other FME Community users can upvote ideas, and our product team reviews them for future inclusion in FME.

If you have any further questions, I’d be happy to answer them!
