Started this this help article which is written for V8i and not CONNECT but believe I've added the line styles to the seed. Drew lines set to the appropriate layer and the line styles are correct. Seed is in a ProjectWise workspace and exported for use with FME:

Hi @llin,

This is a known problem, and one we have been wresting with for a while. It seems the custom line style entries are being copied over from the seed file, but not the definitions for those line styles. I have added you as a contact on the problem report (FMEENGINE-9106), so you will be notified when this is fixed.

Your process of re-importing the line styles is probably the best workaround for now.

Hi @daveatsafe

Is this problem fixed yet ? I have the same problem. The line styles are visible after re-import the rsc file.

Hi @adri.brez

I apologize for any inconvenience.

Our team is still looking into this, and we will make sure to update this post with any progress.

I’m running into the same problem in 2025.1.2 and wondering if there is fix on the horizon or some sort of workaround. Thanks!

Hi @adam_timmons

We don't have a timeline for this currently, but I will update this post with any progress on that internal ticket (FMEENGINE-9106).

This is one workaround that is fairly quick, but requires Microstation:

  • create a copy of the seed file
  • open the seed file copy in Microstation
  • edit as necessary to remove any required geometry
  • attach FME output file as reference
  • in Reference Manager, right click on the FME file and choose Merge into Master
  • left click to initialize merge, then click OK on dialog to finalize
  • All data will be merged in and will display the linetypes correctly
