Hi All,

I was wondering if it Is possible to connect to a Oracle Non-spatial database without having the Service name set up in the tnsnames.ora file?

I'm using a Esri ArcSDE reader in my workbench so I am trying to use the same parameters to keep it simple to deploying on another machine.

Thanks

Hi,

you can use an Oracle EZCONNECT (http://www.orafaq.com/wiki/EZCONNECT) string on the format username/password@[//]host[:port][/service_name]

Example:
