October Winner

Congratulations to our randomly selected winner who participated in October’s Question of the Weeks @_jacques_! You won a Safe swag prize pack.

I only use the FeatureReader, because my colleages told me to...

  • Reader or FeatureReader
  • Coffee or Tea
  • FME Lizard or Zipster
  • Sweet or Salty

  • FeatureReaders
  • Coffee
  • FME Lizard!
  • Salty

I started my FME journey using FeatureReaders so I basically only use FeatureReaders. Can someone give some examples of situations where regular readers are king?

I drink way more tea than coffee, but I think I enjoy a very nice cup of coffee more than I enjoy a very nice cup of tea.

Hi @danielleatsafe

Its easy to answer:

  • FeatureReaders
  • Coffee
  • FME Lizard!
  • Sweet

Coffee is the best friend of FME user!

Once upon a time in the world of FME, a diligent Reader started the day with a cup of Coffee. While exploring data, the Reader met the wise FME Lizard. Together, they transformed messy data into clean formats, adding a touch of Sweetness to their workflow. The Lizard gifted the Reader an enchanted coffee bean, ensuring endless energy and smooth data adventures.

And so, the Reader continued exploring, always accompanied by the wisdom of the FME Lizard, the warmth of Coffee, and the Sweetness of success.

Thanks Copilot

@joepk - up until a couple of weeks ago, being able clip to spatial extent when reading a raster was a big advantage of a reader over a featurereader

FeatureReader - option to clip to spatial extent when using a spatial filter | Community

Second win this year! :-)

Always the FeatureReader… Because so I was told. Coffee because it gets me out of bed in the morning. FME Lizard because he sends encouraging messages all the time. And salty.

Obviously

  • Feature Reader for its Initiator,
  • Tea bag on a warm water with mint,
  • FME Lizard with freeze and dance, and
  • mild salty

I think you’re going to see a lot of very similar answers in this one!

FeatureReader, Coffee, Lizard, Sweet

Going against the grain 😉

  1. Readers by default:  Because it automatically parameterises the workspace.   FeatureReader when I need Schema Feature(s)
  2. Tea
  3. FME Lizard has told me that I better vote for him over Zipster……….or else!  That smiling but scary lizard sees all, knows all… 😉
  4. Sweet
