I think that’s a great opportunity to use AI directly in FME instead of funneling through other pages

I’m only on FME Form 2024.2 so the AI Assist isn’t implemented on most transformers. However, I asked the AI Assist in PythonCaller:

“Create a solution to the Gaza conflict”, and got the answer:

“The Gaza conflict is a complex geopolitical issue that cannot be resolved through Python code. It requires diplomatic, humanitarian, and political efforts involving multiple stakeholders. Please consult experts in international relations and conflict resolution for such matters.”

My question :

Do you know in which version of FME a transformer will be present to make coffee?

Unfortunataly : 

I checked the FME transformer documentation and could not find any transformer related to making coffee. There is no official transformer for this purpose in any version of FME. If you meant something else or have a specific workflow in mind, let me know!

Like most others I havent had a chance to test FMEs AI Assist, since we are not allowed to use it at work. But i would be curious to see how creative it can be explaining complex workspaces or solving tricky FME problems.

Or maybe I would start with something pretty simple: Can you tell a really bad data joke that only FME users would get?

I’ll try as soon as our IT departement rolls out 2025.1. With our 2024.1 I’m out of the game…. 🙄

Like probably many others, I’m not allowed to use any AI other than Copilot while at the office.

But that’s usually not a problem, since I really don’t want to use any of them, but want to keep on figuring things out by myself, and/or with the help of this community. I think AI at present is a distraction more than a help.

However, I might change my mind in the future.

I asked AI Assist to summarise my latest workbench build, but as a limerick, just to keep it on its toes. Here’s the verdict:

There once was a workspace so neat,  
With polygons it aimed to treat.  
It counted each vertex,  
Tested size for context,  
And wrote features online as a feat!

If too many points were found,  
A Chopper would break them down.  
It managed each part,  
With stats off the chart,  
And finished with data renowned!

Maybe slightly less helpful, but a lot more fun!

We still have FME 2024.2 at work and I wasn’t able to find the AI assist there.

Telling it to respond in a certain way sure is fun.

I asked how to create a workspace that automatically creates Queues and Job Routing Rules via the REST API. AI Assist basically told me to do it manually ;-)

I haven’t been able to use the AI assist yet, but I think I might ask it to respond in rhyme!

Wouldn’t it be cool if we could use AI to design our workspaces to be organized and artistic! I most definitely need a loop that circles the outline of a cat and ends by exiting through the tail😂

It was a Monday. It’s always a Monday when this sort of case walks in the door. I poured myself a drink, sat back in my reclining chair, put my feet on the desk, and let AI Assist take over...

Had to try ​@kketola’s method for dad jokes on the Reprojector…. good job I’d say 😂

I checked the official documentation and community resources, and there aren’t any dad jokes or puns specifically about the Reprojector transformer. However, here’s a light-hearted attempt:

Why did the map break up with its old projection?  
Because it needed some space to reproject its feelings!
