Hey Community! Welcome back to Community 101. You may have seen the FME Breakfast of Champions mentioned here in the Community or in event listings and wondered what it is - or whether it’s something you can attend.
FME Breakfast of Champions is an in-person meetup series hosted by Safe Software and held in select cities. It brings together FME users, data professionals, and the Safe team for a relaxed morning of learning, conversation, and connection (with breakfast included!)
What happens at a Breakfast of Champions?
Each event varies, but you can usually expect:
🧠 Practical FME stories and user demos
💬 Open discussion and Q&A
🤝 Time to connect with other FME users
👋 A chance to meet the people behind FME, including members of the Safe Software team
It’s designed to be welcoming and informal, whether you’re brand new to FME or have been using it for years.
Who is it for?
The FME Breakfast of Champions is for:
- New and experienced FME users
- Anyone curious about how others are using FME in the real world
- Community members who want to connect in person
You don’t need to be an expert or a frequent poster to attend.
What if there isn’t one near me?
That’s totally okay. These events are held in specific cities, and not everyone will have one nearby.
If you can’t attend in person, there are still great ways to stay connected:
- Virtual webinars and online events shared in the Community
- Special Interest Groups (SIGs), which host virtual meetups and ongoing discussions
Upcoming Breakfast of Champions:
- March 24 - Ottawa, Ontario
- April 7 - Houston, Texas
How do I find upcoming events?
You can find all upcoming FME Breakfast of Champions events (and other community events) in the events section of the FME Community.
Want to stay in the loop? Visit the Breakfast of Champions landing page to join the waitlist and be the first to know when registration opens.
Have you been to a Breakfast of Champions before?
If yes: What city did you attend in, and what was your favourite part?
That’s it for now, we’ll see you next time for another Community 101 tip! 🚀
