I had a customer who also asked for this so I'll vote too.

See also here and here. We've been talking to Safe about trying to get this added - it's looking positive!

It is possibly right now (even if Bentley discourages this) to read the MS SQL database where the metadata is stores and the references to the server drive where the files and all their versions is stored. I've done it but it's not that user friendly.

And..work is about to get underway. Long shot target -- 2017.1, but we're going to give it a good solid go.

Nice if this could work like the socrata writer, with the ability to deal with CAD files, and template files and of course being able to read the files already posted to projectwise

All these are the goal.

Great to hear that a ProjectWise Connector is on its way! Is 2017.1 looking likely? Also what will the connector read? a PDF version of the CAD file?

Looking forward to seeing what functionality it will offer

Here's an option in the short term but listen in at about 28 minutes in for the likely release of a formal connector...

Here's a direct link to all the custom transformers your heart desires courtesy of @rollohttps://hub.safe.com/search?q=projectwise&page=1&size=10?=relevance

I definitely wouldn't recommend listening to the rest of it!

Sorry @rollo I didn't mean to imply that everyone should skip to the end and not listen to the rest! There are plenty of people super-interested in what you've done, thanks for sharing...

Haha... no worries - I meant to imply exactly that!

Interesting stuff! Will try and see if I can automate a task to put together several CAD files that are stored on Projectwise. Thanks for giving this talk and making the custom transformers available @rollo!

Hi @nic_ran, I am pleased to let you know that our latest FME 2018 betas have a ProjectWiseConnector. Should this feature or its implementation not address your concerns, related to this Idea posting, please let us know by leaving a comment.

Please note that this is a beta feature and its functionality and appearance are subject to change as the product continues to evolve before the official release. As with all beta features and beta versions of our software, they are not considered production-safe and should be incorporated into your workflows with consideration and testing.
