Hi There,

So I am using the: safe.microsoft-sharepoint.SharePointOnlineConnector to download and create .xlsx files in my organization's SharePoint site-- and this transformer is awesome save for one fatal problem...the problem is that the connector only appears to be able to Download or Upload/Overwrite files--but it can not Update existing documents at SharePoint. And the problem is that if a user has the .xlsx document open (in a browser session) the Upload will terminate / fail until all users have closed out of their browser sessions viewing the document. My question: is there a way to Update documents at SharePoint that are being viewed, or is Overwriting the only option. And if the latter is the case, is there a way to terminate all open user sessions of the document at Sharepoint so that the new version can overwrite the old version...Otherwise this transformer, great as it is, is somewhat useless. Any thoughts on this issue, or is it just another "Curse you Bill" situation. THANK YOU for any thoughts!!!

I would not like - as an end user - that the spreadsheet I am viewing, and possibly editing, in my browser would be suddenly closed out-of-the-blue.

Maybe your best bet is to update the spreadsheet out of office hours?

Just some thoughts...

I talked with our Sharepoint Admins and they basically said the same thing you did...in fact they noted that when you open up Excel in Sharepoint (in a browser eg) it creates a temporary lock file on your computer (similar to what happens when you open up a desktop version of Excel)--so not being able to delete a document while another user has it open iby MS design...still it would be nice to be able to perform a live 'Update' of a document in Sharepoint with this transformer (but that would seem dependent on Microsoft it appears). Thanks again for your input though.
