Reducing File Sizes

Hi,

Is there a way of reducing the size of a TAB file that I've created in FME?

Any help with this or info on reducing any other files sizes would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Jo

Hi,

would the Generalizer be an option for you?

Hi David,

Generalising wouldn't really help in this case as I need to keep the boundaries the same.  I didn't know whether there was any kind of compression transformer or something similar?

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

if it's an option, you can write your file(s) to a zip by specifying a zip-file rather than a folder as your destination directory:

Hi Dave,

Thanks again for your reply, unfortunately I need to have the layer loaded into a mapinfo workspace though so a zip file wouldn't help.

Thanks again
