KMZ Feature Extract
I have a question about transforming a KMZ file to a shapefile. Each time I import the KMZ file, which has several separate layers, FME is not able to identify the individual layers. The “Select Feature Types” lists out the typical feature types “Animated Update”, “Document”, “Fly To”… but the only feature type that translates into the appropriate geometry is the “Placemark”. However, when I transform the “Placemark” all the attribute information is lost. What am I doing wrong? Is there something I am missing in working with KML/KMZ data?

hi,
You should expose some of the format attributes such as kml_name kml_descrption, kml_document etc. Then you will start to see some of the details the kmz holds.
