Hello, I am FME beginner and non CAD drawing user. I have a task to convert point features in Excel spreadsheet to CAD drawing. The drawing should contain the attributes too.

After viewing the tutorials, I am able to create the CAD drawings. The attributes can be viewed in Data Inspector, however it cannot be viewed in Autocad LT 2016.

I am attaching the workspace for reference.

Please review and let me know if I have missed any steps?

Thanks in advance

Regards

Vidya

Check the parameters in the Navigator window of Workbench. Under the AutoCAD Writer check the advanced parameters for "Attribute Output". It is probably set to 'limited'. Set it to something else (probably 'Extended Entity Data') and it should work.

Hi,

If you want attributes should be visible as object data then you have to use the writer "Autodesk AutoCAD Map 3D Object Data" and add the required attributes in User Attributes Tab.

Hope this helps.

1. Create a .csv file from Excel file if necessary.

2. In Civil 3D, create a Point File Format that will use the Excel information in the correct order (NEZ comma-delimited) reading the .csv as a file extension.

3. Go to the Insert tab > Points from file.

4. Select the .csv file, specify the correct point file format, and click OK.

You should use the Autodesk AutoCAD Map 3D Object Data writer and not the

Autodesk AutoCAD DWG/DXF writer as @pratap mentions

I'm not sure though that Autocad LT can read Map3D Object Data?
