Hello,

I don't see FME Server on the Azure Marketplace. Can you direct me to "how to" and/or "cookbook" resources for deploying FME Server on Azure? We will have SQL Server already deployed though not sure at this time if that SQL will be IaaS or PaaS.

Thanks, Bob

Hi @bnutsch,

You can deploy FME Server on Azure by performing a regular install using our available installers (https://www.safe.com/downloads/) on any Azure Virtual Machine that runs a supported operating system and meets the minimum system requirements (https://www.safe.com/fme/tech-specs/).

Here is our documentation for installing FME Server:

https://docs.safe.com/fme/html/FME_Server_Documentation/Content/AdminGuide/Performing-an-Installation.htm

Creating an Azure Virtual Machine will create all necessary resources by default (disks, IP address, network, etc.). The necessary rules for the network security groups (SSH/RDP or HTTP/HTTPS) can be easily configured in the Azure Portal. In case you want to reuse resources from a previous IaaS deployment (e.g a virtual network of your SQL Server IaaS deployment), you will be able to choose existing resources during the deployment configuration of the Azure Virtual Machine.

Here are two more resources specific to the Azure SQL Database & Azure Files as FME Server System Share.

Please let us know if you have any further questions!
