I have a service that runs on a schedule that regularly fails to connect to a hosted ArcGIS Online service. If I manually resubmit the same failed service it succeeds. I have other scheduled services that use the same AGOL connection without any problems. I have tried recreating the scheduled task, republishing the service, and re-authenticating the connection. Does anyone have any ideas why this scheduled service is failing but succeeds when manually running and other scheduled services using the same AGOL connection succeed?

Definitely strange - does it always fail on the schedule? What time is it scheduled to run? If you schedule it to run in 5 mins will it also fail?

I only ask because if it's scheduled to run overnight at the same time perhaps there is some nightly maintenance which makes the service unavailable? That would definitely be weird but at least something to test.

If instead it's consistently failing on the schedule (no matter when the schedule is) then there is something else going on (probably more likely).

I found this which may somehow be related: https://community.safe.com/s/article/Known-Issue-Unable-to-Authenticate-to-ArcGIS-Online-on-FME-Server but it doesn't really sound right to me.

It is scheduled to run at 6am and 4pm every day. I can't run it during the day so I will try running it at a different time tonight. I will also delete the connection, republish the service, and re-authenticate the connection as suggested in the article. I have had this same issue last year and was not able to resolve it until we upgraded FME Server and then it ran without problems until recently. It seems like once it fails it continues to fail. I have other services using the same AGOL connection that have not had this issue.

Thanks, David
