Hi,

I have been using FME 2019.1 for some months now with no issues. But strangely now I can no longer view the cached features.

I have 'Run' set with 'Enable Feature Caching' but when I click on the green magnifying glass and select 'Inspect Cached Features', nothing happens. There are definitely records going trough these ports...

I have probably changed some setting but can't work out what it is!

Thanks,

Can you post a screenshot of your workbench?

I think I've somehow lost the 'Visual Preview' window. It is turned on but I can't see it anywhere. Does anyone know how to get it back?

Verify you have Inspect with Data Inspector turned on

Thanks @sigstill I didn't know that was there. I have set that now!

Yes I had 'Visual Preview' turned on but it wasn't showing anywhere on the screen. But I have now closed FME desktop completely and restarted it and it is now showing. Perhaps it was lost off the end of the screen somehow!

same behavior here. Closing FME and restarting = preview ok again.

I have seen this behaviour when docking/undocking my laptop. Going from 1 to 2 screens and back.

Hi @aquamarine and @thierry,

There is a known issue (FMEDESKTOP-9107) on Windows OS only where if you have Visual Preview undocked and close that window, you cannot bring it back in anyway e.g. View > Windows > Visual Preview apart from by closing and restarting FME Workbench, perhaps this is what you are encountering?

I would use the suggestion from sigtill to ensure that if you do run into this you can still view the result via Data Inspector instead.

Thanks for clarifying that this is a known issue @hollyatsafe! I have used sigtill's suggestion 🙂

I have similar issue now. I don't know how to make it enable.

Hi @kris_ab what version of FME are you using? Have you run your workspace? Are you able to reset your window layout or select Visual Preview?imageHave you enabled Feature Caching?

imageYou might want to create a new thread with your question and more information so that the larger community can see it. Unfortunately, this thread is over 4 years old.

Hi Evie, apologize for the delayed response.

I enabled cached, run the workbench, and was able to reset the window layout.

I have created the new workbench. It is fine now.

thanks
