I would like to extrude an object, for example a rectangle along a path. So I have a 2D object and a 3D path. In C3D I can do this with the command 'sweep'.

path

And I would like to have an output like this (solid):solid

who could help me please? 😃

Or somebody could have another possibility, all lines are offsets from 1 centerline

Hi,

Extrude along a path eg simple shapes - such as circles, squares, triangles (any profile ideally).

Yes, I would find this feature very useful also. Would be a much loved feature in FME.

AFAIK - currently not possible in FME

.............

I think that the nearest we have currently in FME is:

Extruder Transformer - but only extrudes in 1 direction eg vertically - such as 2d building footprints to simple 3d solids OR

Bufferer Transformer - in 3d (solid) mode - will create tubes (ie solids of circular cross section) along polylines eg pipes

Hub3dBufferer is similar I believe

................

Have you got AutoCad or SketchUp ???

Then its very simple with these programs.

Until then, consider upvoting this idea (and keep your fingers crossed) .......

Hope this helps
