How do I relate the version number of a Transformer to the Version number of the software?

Am I right in thinking it's for long-term maintenance of workspaces? I'd love to understand your needs a bit better as well:

1. When you mention "relating the version number of a Transformer to the version number of my software," could you clarify what this relationship would look like for you? Are you hoping for a mapping system, documentation reference, or something else?

2. By "software version," are you referring to the main FME build number (like 2025.0, 2024.3.5) or something more specific?

3. How would you ideally like to view and use this information? Would you prefer it integrated into the workbench interface, as separate documentation, or in some other format?

Following up on this, currently we don't have a direct way to relate transformer version numbers to specific software versions externally.

The Change Log, which you can access from the software Downloads page, is the closest resource we have right now:

You can search for specific transformers to see what changes were made and in which build, though it doesn't always list transformer version numbers.

This sort of resource could be really valuable for users, and it’s a great idea!
