DI: How to make solids transparent for inspection ?

Is there a way in FME DataInspector to make 3D solids "partly" transparent, like area filling is now ?

I have quite hard times to inspect the parts of a solid when I need to always rotate it so that the marked vertex/point is in foreground.

It would help greatly if it would be possible to see through the surfaces.

Yes, try the GeometryColorSetter alpha value

OK

That would mean I need to decide about transparency before the DI is invoked.

If I read a CityGML file into DI I don't see when I should set any transparency ... ?

No, I dont think you can do that unless your format supports materials
