DBF reader problem with Character Encoding

Hi @ronmak. Sorry to hear that you are having challenges bringing in your dbf. Can you try zipping up your dbf and try uploading the resulting the .zip?

Hi @ronmak, thanks for providing the sample file and your patience as we've looked into this. I managed to reproduce the issue and quickly check in with our dev team. Was there a .cpg file stored in the same directory as this .dbf on your end?

Sorry @nampreetatsafe - no .cpg file.

These files come from Microsurvey (just down the road from you in Kelowna!) and the format goes way back to their dos version. There is an accompanying .mdx but I doubt that would be helpful. I have attached a csv file which may contain a clue though. I can open it in excel and see that several columns are padded with an unrecognized character. If I open it in a Notepad++, I get binary gibberish.
