CSV Reader - User Attributes - are Type, Width etc important?

Apologies if this is a stupid question!

The CSV Reader (2016.1 version) presumably scans a certain number of lines to get an idea of the schema, and this is where the Type, Width, etc values come from in the User Attributes tab of the Feature Type Properties.

However there may be different values beyond the lines scanned, e.g. longer text strings. Do I need to ensure that the Type, Width etc values fit values in the whole file? I'm writing to a File Geodatabase where I have a Manual definition of the User Attributes, so I'm not using the Reader schema on the Writer.

No, in most cases it's not important, just leave the default settings, at least that's what I do.
