How can I set the Line Length of a DGN Text element/node?

@keitho can you clarify your question. Are you asking how to calculate the length of a text string?

@keitho - When creating a multi-text or text node feature, you can set the format attribute igds_max_string_len to your desired length. However, this attribute seems to have no effect on line wrapping when editing the text node in Microstation v7 or v8.

Mark, Thanks for the reply.

 

I am translating XML to DGN and the resulting Text Nodes have a Line Length attribute value being automatically set as part of the translation. This is creating problems in Microstation when we try and edit the text with text auto wrapping when we try and go past the line length value.

 

I was hoping to access an attributes within the workbench that would allow me to write a non wrapping value, which I would think would be zero. Is there such an attribute?
