Convert DGN curve to points

Hi, I have a Microstation V8 DGN file with Curves.  I want to convert these curves to points but maintain the same number and position of the vertices as they are in Microstation.  When I use the "Chopper" transformer with number of vertices set to 1 (since I want points) it seems to create a lot more points than there are vertices in the original file.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Hi

I'm not quite familiar with Microstation lingo, what du you mean by Curves?

Is that the same as arcs and elipses in FME? If so, they don't really have vertices, see here (http://docs.safe.com/fme/html/FME_ReadersWriters/FME_Readers_Writers.htm#_FME_Geometry/Arcs.htm) for details.

Hi David,

Thanks, but I actually just found the answer! I  was using FME2014 initially, but when I tried it in FME2015 there is a new option in the DGN Reader that allows me to "Preserve Curves" (Curves are a type of geometry in Microstation).  When I used the Chopper after preserving the curves, the vertices were also preserved as per the original DGN file as I had hoped.
