textvalues of an excelfile gets an extra apostrofe when it is written to another excelfile.

If i let FME copy excelfile A to excelfile B the textvalues of excelfile A gets an extra apostrofe when it is written to excelfile B.  So value xxxx from excelfile A becomes 'xxxx in excelfile B. Does anyone know how to prevent this?

Hi,

I was not able to reproduce this using FME 2014 SP1 and the XLSX reader/writer.

Which version of FME are you using?

This is indeed an old problem in prior excellwriter.

In the old days ...; ) 2011 we had to, like clean it up in excell itself.

Gio is spot on, you really should upgrade to at least FME 2013 SP4.

The Excel reader/writer was completely rewritten in FME 2013 SP2 and it was a huge improvement.

There are also a lot of other very compelling reasons to upgrade, so highly recommended.
